Richemont Americas, a subsidiary of the Richemont international luxury goods group, is looking for an Anti-Money Laundering, Sanctions & Compliance Senior Manager to join our legal team in New York. THE POSITION AND YOU

The Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions and Compliance Senior Manager is responsible for overseeing and maintaining best-in-class AML and Sanctions programs across Richemont Americas (including within the US, Canada, Brazil and Mexico), in collaboration with the Richemont Group’s central Legal and Compliance teams. You will report to the AVP Compliance Americas within the Legal function, as well as support the Retail Finance, Treasury, and Procurement teams, to ensure regional compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as external laws and regulations, concerning AML and Sanctions.

This is a fast-paced job for a dynamic individual who can juggle multiple projects, prioritize and re-prioritize in a fluid environment, and who demonstrates excellent risk assessment in knowing when to be flexible and when to draw a hard line or escalate an issue. As a small regional legal department, our team relishes in wearing many hats in support of the company. While you will primarily provide day-to-day guidance on AML and Sanctions related compliance matters, you should be comfortable providing general advice and recommendations on additional compliance matters as needed. This job profile is not meant to be all inclusive of the responsibilities of this position and may include other duties as assigned, but areas of focus will be as follows:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage day-to-day operations of Richemont Americas’ AML and Sanctions compliance programs, in collaboration with management, functional and Maison partners, including by maintaining relevant policies and procedures and overseeing AML transaction monitoring, suspicious activity and regulatory reporting.
  • Provide expertise and advice to management and the business on complex AML and Sanctions matters.
  • Serve as a member of the Richemont Americas Compliance Committee. Contribute toward and support development of quarterly metrics, and provide reports to the AVP Compliance and Compliance Committee, regarding AML and Sanctions initiatives and identified risk areas.
  • Develop/Implement/Manage/Monitor all regional AML and Sanctions training programs (live and ecucational modules) for appropriate personnel, in coordination with and support of the RFBO.
  • Oversee sanctions screening/flagging processes in the region in connection with retail clients, suppliers/vendors, and business partners, in alignment with Group Compliance and Group Procurement procedures.
  • Manage and investigate escalations related to Sanctions and AML Compliance, as needed, to identify non-compliant activity (if any), report findings and manage remediation efforts, as needed.
  • Proactively identify and monitor any regulatory compliance, activity and/or operational issues, and implement solutions to improve control environment. Perform quality assurance testing to identify gaps, develop and implement plans to address.
  • Support the global compliance program and assist with any requested prioritization of global compliance initiatives, and remain apprised of EU, UK, Swiss and APAC Sanctions regimes in parallel by collaborating with respective global counterparts.
  • Conduct periodic AML and Sanctions Risk Assessments, and contribute to related internal audits, in coordination with the AVP Compliance, to identify and evaluate risk areas.
  • Support the implementation of AML and Sanctions-related automated solutions/technology, in partnership with Group Compliance and Technology teams, to implement effective enterprise-wide global third-party risk and compliance platforms.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by management, including supporting other areas of compliance as needs arise. Maintain flexibility and adaptability in meeting rapidly evolving business needs, and perform other functions and duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Law degree or graduate level business degree preferred, but not required
  • CAMS and other compliance certifications a plus

Professional Experience:

  • 5-7 years of subject matter expertise in AML and Sanctions Compliance (with at least 3 years of experience gained in an in-house corporate compliance related function).
  • Strong knowledge and practical application of US sanctions laws, regulations, and programs, with Canadian and other global sanctions knowledge a plus.
  • Strong knowledge and practical application of US Anti-Money Laundering laws, including the Bank Secrecy Act, The Patriot Act, and OFAC regulations, with Canadian and other global AML knowledge a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and other Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption regulations.
  • Experience in the luxury goods and/or retail industries stongly preferred, including a solid understanding of multiple payment methods and transaction types (i.e., large cash transactions, wire transfers, cc), and related filing requirements across jurisdictions (i.e 8300 form, etc.).

  • Ability to create detailed procedural documentation
  • Technical proficiency and experience working with sanctions screening and other third party due diligence software solutions (i.e. WorldCheck, Integration Point) + aptitude to master technological solutions intended to automate the Company’s compliance efforts and metrics
  • Team player, able to easily integrate themselves into a highly collaborative compliance function
  • With flexible work policies, must be able to regularly work in-person in New York City and Shelton, Connecticut corporate offices
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed

Expected Salary Range: $125,000 – $150,000/annually

Salary will be negotiated based on relevant skills and experience.
