Claims Attorney

Position Overview
We have an exciting growth opportunity for an Associate Bond Claims Attorney in our downtown Los Angeles, California office. The Associate Attorney will develop legal experience while investigating claims related to contract surety bonds.
Performance Objectives and Timeline
- During the first 30 days: Learn about our company and the basics of surety bonds – what we do, our systems and processes, and the members of our team. Learn how bonds are issued and how claims are asserted.
- During the first 3 months: Learn the processes and procedures for handling claims to comply with statutory and regulatory deadlines.
- During the first 6 months and beyond: Investigate claims by reviewing documentation, obtaining information from various parties, and analyzing issues. Prepare determination letters.
- During the first year and beyond: Expand skills and strategies to handle more important and complex claims.
Education and Experience
- Doctor of Jurisprudence degree (JD) or a related field or the equivalent education and/or experience
- Up to two years of relevant and progressive legal experience, such as civil litigation generally, and construction or probate legal practice specifically, including related insurance claims.

For candidates working in person in Los Angeles, the reasonable pay range for this specific position is $85,400 to $117,500 per year. The salary offered for this specific position is based on a number of legitimate, non-discriminatory factors set by the Company.
