Job Description
SUMMARY:
The USH Merchandise Manager maintains oversight of the Merchandising team within Retail Operation’s Visual Merchandising Department (VMD). This role is responsible for the Merchandising plans, execution, maintenance of in-store product displays, and the development and implementation of Universal Studios Hollywood’s Visual Merchandising Standards park-wide.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for all product placement, execution, and maintenance of in-store fixture layouts and creation of digital floor plans used by merchandise planners, buyers, and store operators that drive revenue and per cap while minimizing inventory shrink
- Partners with stakeholders and manages the creation of all merchandising plans and coordinates the execution of visual merchandising floor sets, new product deliveries, and seasonal/annual product support, and shoulder events.
- Uses exceptional business acumen to make merchandising decisions that successfully impact product placement and sell-thru rates while accounting for brand integrity.
- Responsible for reviewing inventory levels and updating stakeholders; Create strategies that will increase business trends while ensuring inventory is stock balanced in the retail venues.
- Responsible for the merchandising of multi-department program initiatives and category statement areas for all USH Retail Venues
- Manages the visual merchandising calendar and ensures the VM department is kept up-to-date and on-task.
- Creation and maintenance of all store planogram templates, sku-to-fixture spreadsheets, and wall bay configurations used by the merchandising team to determine merchandisable space and product layouts.
- Works cross-functionally with other USH departments and partners with stakeholders on, including but not limited to special initiatives, product merchandising, marketing, product tests, and seasonal roll-outs.
- Maintains and enforces the Visual Merchandising standards book.
- Leads Park walks to discuss and address business opportunities and visual merchandising concerns.
- Develops the merchandising team and trains the store management on merchandising presentation and visual standards.
- Attends business meetings and informs the key stakeholders about the status of projects, product deliveries, and other pertinent merchandising information.
- Provides information to and partner with the Visual Manager on current and future product deliveries for proper visual planning
- Partners with the Visual Merchandising Director on department budget opportunities.
- Quarterly benchmarks other retailers for the latest merchandising trends and display fixtures: Effectively communicates findings to VM Director and looks to implement best practices.
Salary Range: $75,000 – $90,000
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 5 years of multi-store product merchandising; or equivalent combination of education and retail experience; Minimum 3 years of Retail Store Management
- Experience supporting multiple stores in an assigned territory or area
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software; Adobe Creative Suite; In-design, Photoshop and Illustrator, a plus
- Physically able to stock products, pick up boxes, move fixtures, stand for long periods, read/follow directions and have exceptional communication skills verbal and written
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or overnights with short notice
