Job Summary
Yoga Instructor – Limited Term
Time Frame: August 20, 2023 until October 1, 2023
This position is responsible for preparing, teaching and modifying fitness, wellness and evidenced based programs to WAFC members and guests to meet their needs, interests and abilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary.
- Monitor and direct participants in proper and safe use of exercise equipment.
- Offer modifications during class to accommodate different levels of fitness.
- Choose appropriate music.
- Set up and take down room for appropriate class needs.
- Keep storage room neat and orderly.
- Inform WAFC staff when maintenance and purchasing of exercise equipment is necessary.
- Inform WAFC staff of custodial needs related to cleanliness of the fitness and equipment storage areas.
- Inform WAFC Staff of any injuries or accidents. Fill out Accident/Incident form
- Maintain confidentiality as required, through all classes.
- Flexibility of schedule is required based on activities at the WAFC

Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent. Any equivalent combination of related education and experience, that provides requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for the position.
- Certification in classes being taught.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or obtain within 6 months)
- Knowledge of fitness equipment and how to use it safely and correctly.
- Previous teaching experience.
Language Skills
- Ability to communicate orally, clearly, patiently and tactfully with participants,
Reasoning Ability
Ability to exercise judgment in the abilities or constraints of participants in a fitness class.
Other Qualifications
- Prior experience working with fitness class participants of various ages and abilities

- Ability to coordinate eyes, hands, feet and limbs in performing slightly skilled movements such as typing and to operate various pieces of office equipment.
- The employee must exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, occasionally involving lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, crouching, crawling, kneeling, stooping and or moving up to 50 pounds.
