Technical Writer – Senior Content Strategist

We are looking for a Technical Writer to be responsible for content and documentation for products we are commercializing.

About the team

In the Technology Strategy team, we address issues that need cross-departmental input and involvement with senior executives throughout the company. While in the commercialization team, we develop partner networks to support increased productivity, speed, and innovation.

What you’ll do

  • Write high-impact documentation for external commercial customers – across all parts of the product (API/SDKs) usage lifecycle, including deployment and configuration guidance for IT and devops engineers, user guidance for data engineers and business users , API and command references, tutorials, walkthroughs, sample apps, and best practices guides.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and product managers to develop effective, customer-focused documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with customer-facing technical staff (support engineers, solutions architects, developer relations) on best practices, onboarding material, and other scenario based guidance.
  • Help drive a use-case-based information-architecture approach to organizing content.
  • Write concise and informative how-tos and tutorials, intuitive explanations of complex topics and features, and comprehensive API reference documentation.
  • Help us continually improve our authoring and production tools and processes.
  • Edit content contributed by engineering and the field for technical accuracy, grammar, usage, adherence to style, and fit within information architecture.
  • Manage contributed articles through technical review and content edits. Foster collaboration with our Training, Engineering, Product, Support, and Customer Success teams to keep our documentation up-to-date, effective, and user-centric

What you’ll bring

Must Have

  • 6+ recent years of technical writing experience – for external developers and IT professionals
  • Create documentation and guides that make it easy for customers (developers and business users) to get started using our products and leverage advanced capabilities
  • Experience documenting APIs, SDKs, and similar tools.
  • A passion for writing and editing developer documentation, including tactical how-tos, end-to-end tutorials, and structured reference content. You are passionate about clarity, concision, and correctness. Mastery of the tools of the technical writer: consistent voice, straightforward and lively style, understanding of the rules of grammar and usage
  • Recent experience with Markdown, HTML, CSS, and UNIX, as well as source control systems like Git.
  • Familiarity with, or are willing to learn about, the various technologies that make web-scale and cloud-native applications function.
  • A love for information. You enjoy getting into the weeds technically, but don’t let that distract you from achieving your end goals.
  • A passion for building relationships with internal and external users to get feedback and identify potential areas of documentation improvement.

  • Experience developing short video tutorials.
  • Experience creating effective and on-brand diagrams.

The annual salary range for this position is $98,000.00-$168,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.

Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:

– Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)

– Stock equity incentives
