Reliability Construction Manager – On Call

Overview

We are currently seeking an On Call Reliability Construction Manager to work at the client’s facility and oversees all activities in the field. He or she would report to the Manager of Construction Services. The primary objective of this position is the day-to-day management of the on-site construction effort as needed.

As a Reliability Construction Manager, you will be…

  • Responsible for maintaining equipment that uses: Ammonia and co2.
  • Responsible for all on-site management, supervision, and coordination of construction activities.
  • Responsible for establishing and monitoring job site safety, health, and environmental program.
  • Responsible for ensuring the execution of field construction in conformance with project drawings, specifications, procedures, schedules, budgets, quality requirements, and applicable safety standards.
  • Responsible for controlling project schedule and cost through the efficient use of all construction resources including manpower, materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining all required project documentation.
  • Responsible for timely and effective communication with the Manager of Construction Services, client, engineer, and project managers.
  • Plan and develop repairs on plant equipment: Compressors and pumps.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the project documents. Have a complete working knowledge of the prime contract, design drawings, specifications, Contractor scopes of work, and the project schedule.
  • Participate (with the Project Manager) in the development of the master schedule for the assigned project.
  • Conduct pre-mobilization meetings with Contractors.
  • Schedule and coordinate all required permit, inspection, and testing agency activities.
  • Review Contractor work plans for safety, quality, and schedule compliance.
  • Monitor the Contractor employees for compliance with the safety and reporting requirements of OSHA and the Owner.
  • Coordinate activities of all Contractors to ensure an efficient and productive use of resources. Plan work activities to ensure that design, manpower, material, tools, equipment, and supervision are available. Proactively manage events to avoid unnecessary change orders.
  • Ensure the quality of field installations.
  • Conduct on-site schedule coordination meetings weekly, or as required, to maintain effective communication, coordination, and schedule and cost control.
  • Promote a safe, healthy, and environmentally conscious site. Conduct monthly on-site mass safety meetings. Ensure adequate site security.
  • Plan and manage the project’s temporary facilities.
  • Perform quantity surveys and monitor work in progress. Ensure corrective action is taken by Contractor(s) as required to facilitate timely completion of tasks and activities.
  • Maintain required project documentation, including but not limited to: OSHA Log, accident/incident reports, first-aid reports, SDS, daily reports, as-built drawings, communications, drawing revisions, engineering sketches and directives, appropriate codes, and standards, etc.
  • Maintain timely and effective communications with the Manager of Construction Services to prevent project delays, cost overruns or client dissatisfaction. Report weekly on construction status and issues concerning safety, schedule, cost, or client relations.

You meet the minimum qualifications if you…

  • Have an associate degree from 2-year college program.
  • Have at least Five (5) years of experience as a Reliability Manager in the construction industry in industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Have at least Five (5) years of experience as a Maintenance Supervisor in the construction industry in industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Have the ability to solve problems involving several options in situations.
  • Have the ability to deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • Have working knowledge of OSHA requirements is necessary.
  • Have a valid driver’s license is required.
  • This position requires exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization and planning skills are required.
  • Time management skills are a requirement of this position.
  • This position requires an ability to use computers and software for communication and reporting purposes.

Physical Requirements:

  • Travel to project sites and corporate offices. Of which, a small percentage is overnight travel.
  • The job requires the ability to visit industrial sites and construction sites for the intent of performing inspections and observations that may be physically demanding. These inspections and observations may be made at heights, in confined spaces, and may require the use of a respirator to perform the inspections.
  • Meets expectations for attendance and punctuality.
  • May be required to lift up to 20 lbs.

  • Typical salary range for this position is $100,000.00 – $125,000.00. This On Call position will be paid for hours worked based on the above mentioned salary. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
