Summary
The Communications and Marketing intern is responsible for the completion of the tasks listed herein. Emphasis will be placed on ability to work in a team environment, balance multiple projects and deadlines, accuracy, timeliness, flexibility and professionalism. Successful candidate will be willing to work occasional nights and weekends.
Duties & Responsibilities of the Coaching Education Coordinator:
- Assist with the production of content for USABoxing.org, USA Boxing’s Grassroots program and Alumni Association, as well as USA Boxing’s social media platforms.
- Write press releases, feature stories and event recaps to pitch to local and national media.
- Assist with the production of media guides for national and international events.
- Assist with generating marketing materials for use across departments and at grassroot and national events for potential sponsors and revenue streams.
- Assist with USA Boxing Foundation on marketing and promotional fundraising campaigns.
- Work with current USA Boxing sponsors on digital and marketing campaigns.
- Organize archival photos, footage and other content.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
Current undergraduate (junior or senior) or graduate student or recent graduate with a minimum of two years of undergraduate study in sports management, marketing, graphic design, communications, journalism or related field
Skills and Competencies Required
- Passion for communications, marketing, digital media and the Olympic movement
- Exceptional communication and organization skills
- Attentive and detail oriented in assigned projects
- Self-starting attitude with the ability to multi-task and take initiative and ownership of projects
- Ability to form and maintain relationships
- Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook), Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), Content Management Systems, social media applications (Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, YouTube), AP style
Position Type: Intern, Temporary, Part-time, Non-exempt; estimated ~20hrs per week with the potential for up to 40 hours during event weeks
Applicant will be responsible for moving costs and housing in Colorado Springs or nearby. This position is not affiliated with the USOC intern program.

Salary Range: $14.00 – $20.00 / hour

Working conditions: Located in Colorado Springs, CO
Schedule may be flexible and negotiated with the supervisor; USA Boxing staff typically work M-F 8:00am to 5:00pm with a one hour lunch break; availability to work during these hours is required.
Travel may be required on occasion
