Description
The Accounts Payable Accounting Analyst performs advanced accounting tasks including managing invoice payment processes within the ERP system, journal entries, account reconciliations, and business analysis and reporting. Provides a customer service role for students and non?students for the collection of payment of tuition, fees, and auxiliary services offered at by the College. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Manager, Business Office.
Examples of Duties
1. Manages invoice payment process:
a. Inputs, edits, and corrects invoice payments in ERP system.
b. Manages the invoice approval and documentation process.
c. Completes payment process via check, ACH, and wire.
d. Researches and resolves account discrepancies. Reconciles vendor statements.
e. Reconciles vendor statements and open purchase orders report.
f. Compiles purchasing credit card statements and records activity in the ERP system.
2. Customer service and cashiering:
a. Answers questions from students and the public regarding college fees, and general college activities or processes.
b. Maintains a detailed knowledge of all payment methods including scholarship, awards, loans, and payment plans.
c. Accurately handle and processes payments via credit card, checks, and cash.
d. Accurately input data in ERP system and complete end of day cashier reporting.
e. Liaison with Enrollment Services, Financial Aid, and other departments as needed to resolve student issues regarding the link between student class performance and student aid.
3. Key member of the annual and monthly accounting close process including recording monthly utilities accruals and postage and paper usage.
4. Perform duties remotely as needed during extended College closures, including but not limited to hurricane and other natural disasters.
5. Assist in College recruitment and retention efforts, as appropriate.
6. Required to attend Graduation/Commencement ceremonies.
7. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of accounting department policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of accounting concepts.
• Knowledge of word-processing and spreadsheet software such as Word and Excel.
• Ability to operate a cash register and credit card terminal.
• Ability to make mathematics calculations and tabulations accurately.
• Ability to complete a variety of tasks simultaneously under time constraints and stressful situations.

Education and Qualifications:
• Graduation from an accredited two (2) year college or university with an Associate’s Degree required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Three (3) years accounting experience or bookkeeping experience required.

FLORIDA RETIREMENT SYSTEM – Full-time and regular part-time employees participate in the Florida Retirement System (FRS). The College contributes the current retirement percentage of the individual’s salary, and the employee would contribute the current retirement percentage based on their salary. Employees may choose the Pension Plan or the Investment Plan.
PAID TUITION – Tuition fees for credit courses taken at the College are waived for employees and their eligible dependents, including domestic partners. Tuition and student fees are waived for non-credit physical education courses. Contingent upon approval, $1,000 reimbursement is available each fiscal year through Staff & Program Development (S&PD), for completion of course work toward a degree which results in demonstrated benefit to the College.
