Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Senior Economist, we’ll count on you to:

  • Direct, plan and design research to aid in interpretation of and solution of complex problems with economic relationships
  • Conduct economic modeling, cost-benefit analysis, and risk or financial analysis
  • Study economic and statistical data in area of specialization
  • Devise methods and procedures for collecting and processing data, utilizing knowledge of available sources of data and various econometric and sampling techniques
  • Formulate recommendations, policies or plans to aid in market interpretation or solution of economic issues
  • Take responsibility for marketing economic consulting services
  • Plan and develop project activities with significant impact as needed
  • Plan, organize and supervise work of medium to large staff of professionals and support staff as needed
  • Work at local project sites and have regular client contact as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in water resources planning, water resources engineering, or related field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree
  • Experience with water infrastructure planning studies, extreme hydrology, and/or consequence analysis
  • Experience with USACE planning process
  • Experience with risk-based planning and risk informed decision making
  • Familiarity with integration of resiliency into the planning process

The expected compensation range for this position is $59.71 – $85.30 hourly depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
