Responsibilities
The Revenue Cycle Solutions Architect is responsible for designing and implementing solutions for the most complex business and technology opportunities within the Mayo Clinic Revenue Cycle. This criticalposition will work closely with the Revenue Cycle Chair, Division Chair, and other senior leadership positions to ensure that the technology developed for the enterprise aligns to the revenue cycle strategy, goals, and operational workflows. The position allows for creativity and problem-solving, offering a chance to design best practice solutions for a broad array of challenges, such as implementing configuration changes in existing software to improve quality and efficiencies, or designing and implementing new, integrated, custom solutions for when existing software does not fit the need. This role is expected to make significant positive impacts on how Mayo Clinic operates and provides care for its patients. The Revenue Cycle Solution Architect’s work will focus on providing technical leadership, expertise, planning and recommendations leveraging enterprise technologies, with Epic modules as a core
component of many designs, but they will also need to consider all available products, technologies, and services within their domain including departmental and enterprise specialty systems. Using functional specifications and designs, the Solutions Architect will drive roadmaps for projects and future releases by
collaborating with business owners and Revenue Cycle leadership to drive strategic partners toward meaningful and targeted software and workflow improvements.
Serves as a leader, consultant, mentor, and tutor in many specific technical architecture areas of expertise to staff throughout the Revenue Cycle. Solution Architect will facilitate and collaborate across technical committees to gain needed institution approvals and works effectively across departmental organizations
gaining consensus of stakeholders. Works independently on all projects and assignments escalating to others based upon scope of authority, producing dependable results that consistently meet objectives. Is recognized beyond their division as a technical expert and is sought out for their in-depth knowledge. Also, is knowledgeable and applies a broad range of current technologies and recognizes how they fit into Mayo’s environment. Maintains in-depth knowledge of existing systems and certifications in the vended applications. Able to design, develop or modify programs, algorithms or rules using vendor command language or similar
technology tools. May serve as liaison for industry partnerships or as a Mayo Clinic representative in national industry events.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 8 years’ experience including 5 years’ of demonstrated technical experience and 3 years of demonstrated leadership experience.
Works cross functionally across Mayo Clinic Departments. Demonstrated project and deliverable consistency through repeatable and reliable performance. Demonstrates initiative and self-motivation to complete tasks and assignments on time. Proven evidence of project management skills. Demonstrated oral and written communication, organization, problem solving, and facilitation skills. Evidence of mastery level expertise in multiple technologies. Demonstrated ability in solving complex technical and application problems with multiple technologies. Experience working in healthcare technology and Epic. Exposure to managing both custom developed and vendor-supplied applications.
Multiple (three or more) Epic Certifications required.
Masters degree in applicable field preferred.
