SUMMARY
The Senior Director of Instructional Technology and Online Education works collaboratively with district leadership, technology teams, curriculum and instruction teams, principals and teachers to define the district strategy for online education and for integrating online resources and other technologies into the classroom setting. Further, this individual leads district initiatives to define, build, prototype and implement online learning experiences for all school settings, both traditional and virtual (distance learning.)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Master’s degree Educational Technology or related field.
AND
Three years of educational experience utilizing technology in instruction in a K-12 setting.
OR
Bachelor’s degree in Educational Technology or related field.
AND
Five years of educational experience utilizing technology in instruction in a K-12 setting.
Experience working with curriculum and instruction, online learning platforms, cloud learning platforms and technology integration in the classroom.
Experience working with one or more of the following: national and state educational standards, instructional design, facilitation, event planning, program planning.
Experience working in a large urban school district.
Superior written and verbal communication skills in English with a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written, graphic, and oral instructions.
Supervisory experience.
Any equivalent combination of experience, training, or education.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with online education products and programs in a K-12 environment.
Experience developing and implementing instructional technology programs.
Experience leading medium to large scale initiatives/projects of varying complexity.
Ability to foster vision and translate into actionable plans.
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:
The ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical people.
The ability to learn quickly, grasp new concepts and work with limited supervision.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
FBI fingerprint background check (at employee’s expense).
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

FTE : 1.0 – 8 hours per day
Work Calendar: 12 month
