DESCRIPTION
In collaboration with physicians, state medical boards, hospitals and others, we work to promote public protection, patient safety, and the attainment of the highest possible quality of clinical care.
Since 1996, the PACE Program has committed itself to promoting a culture of ongoing quality improvement and professional development in the medical field. It is our mission to better the quality of healthcare throughout the nation by offering assessment and remediation services to medical professionals. These assessments can be performed on practicing physicians as well as those who are seeking to reenter practice or obtain initial licensure. We also offer physician monitoring services through our Physician Enhancement Program (or PEP) and a number of continuing professional development (also known as continuing medical education “CME”) courses. The PACE objective is “CME that matters.” Our offerings are focused and interactive, in line with effective adult learning principles that lead to behavior change. These courses use pre- and post-tests to measure the acquisition of knowledge. Participant feedback and course content is continuously evaluated to ensure our courses remain relevant and of the highest quality.
We are the largest assessment and remediation program for healthcare professionals in the country, and have assessed over 2,000 physicians and medical professionals and have provided CME to over 6,000 physicians.
Under the general supervision of the Associate Director of the UCSD PACE Program, position oversees day-to-day operations and strategic development of PACE Continuing Medical Education (CME) courses, PLUS Programs, custom education for groups and individuals, speaker’s bureau, and new program development. PACE has 6 CME Courses (Physician Prescribing Course, Medical Record Keeping Course, Professional Boundaries Program, Managing High Impact Emotions, Clinician-Patient Communication, and Ethics for Medical Professionals which vary in length from 1-3 days, are each offered between 4-10 times per year and have a collective annual revenue of approximately $750,000.
Position is responsible for managing multiple projects and tasks concurrently, so strong organizational and project management skills are essential.
Position will involve networking and outreach to build strong partnerships and collaborations with a variety of stakeholders, including medical professionals, educators, and industry partners, in order to create successful CME programs and events. Position will also use networking and outreach skills to effectively promote CME programs and events and increase attendance.
In addition, position should be able to develop new CME programs and events, including identifying topics and speakers, supporting the development and delivery of educational content, and coordinating logistics for the program. This may involve working with a team of educators and medical professionals to design and deliver high-quality CME programs that meet the needs of the target audience.
Overall, strong strategic planning and program development skills are essential for this position to ensure that CME programs and events are aligned with the needs and goals of the organization and the target audience and are delivered in a high-quality and effective manner.
