SVP, Planning & Capital Management

Job Overview:

The Senior Vice President of Planning and Capital Management is responsible for LPL’s long-term financial planning and the development and ongoing enhancement of our cash and capital forecasting processes. Reporting the Executive Vice President, Financial Planning and Analysis, this role will collaborate with leaders in Finance, Strategy, Corporate Development and our Business Units to shape the financial strategy of the firm to support its growth objectives. We are looking for a dynamic and influential data-driven finance executive to enhance this capability at our firm.

The SVP and their team will serve as an advisor and consultant to the c-suite and their direct leadership team.

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of the firm’s cash forecasting and capital allocation models
    • Lead a team of analysts to refine and continuously improve our firm-wide cash forecasting model and processes, with a focus on tying operating and business activity drivers to changes in cash flows
    • Analyze the cash impact of capital structure changes and analyze cash available for new Investment, M&A, and returning capital to shareholders
    • Partner with Treasury to monitor liquidity, evaluate forecast performance, and provide recommendations to senior leadership to enhance operating performance, improve cash management, and optimize the firm’s capital structure
    • Create presentations for the board and senior management to drive capital allocation decisions
  • Ownership of the firm’s rolling multi-year financial forecast & Long-Term Models
    • Partner with peers in FP&A to develop an integrated driver model that leverages in-year forecasts to inform the multi-year forecast
    • Partner with Strategy and senior leadership to develop the financial models that evaluate the firm’s multi-year strategic plans and provide scenario analysis to assess strategic options and risks
    • Utilize multi-year financial modeling to identify opportunities to drive scale and efficiency and improve long-term profitability
  • Manage and Develop a team of finance professionals to be the best in the industry
    • Coach and develop a team of vice presidents, associate vice presidents, and analysts to build thoughtful analyses that produce recommendations to enhance business performance
    • Challenge the team to think creatively, drive for excellence, and seek better outcomes for our clients
    • Collaborate with Finance leadership to strengthen and enhance team engagement, focusing on people, systems, and process
    • Provide mentorship to emerging leaders within the Finance organization
  • Lead and/or participate in cross-functional teams as necessary to solve business issues and advance firm priorities
  • Lead the integration of enhanced operational driver modeling within our financial planning and forecasting models

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 15 years experience working within Corporate Finance, Treasury, Financial Planning and Analysis, or similar roles with frequent c-level client interactions
  • Significant experience with financial and operational modeling concepts, cash flow and balance sheet forecasting and analysis, business model evolution, and strategic executive communication
  • Strong analytical background with demonstrated success influencing using data
  • Experience managing and motivating a team
  • Ability to design and execute a compelling vision
  • Strong operational skill set complimented by business and financial acumen
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Expert level proficiency with the Microsoft Office product suite: excel, powerpoint required
  • Client centric mind-set and commitment to identifying opportunities to continually improve the end to end client experience
  • Reliable self-starter, with a collaborative mindset and ability to build strong relationships across any organization

Pay Range:
$191,600-$287,400/year

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
