What you will do…
• Coordinate, analyze & control the inventory system for ODNR central office & statewide field offices;
• Receive, inspect & maintain inventory of materials;
• Help load & unload shipments while checking quantity & item condition;
• Record inventory information & ship or deliver to respective destinations;
• Ensure department inventory compliance by performing audits.

Official Position Description:

Coordinates, analyzes & controls inventory system for central office & statewide field offices: receives, inspects, & maintains inventory of materials (e.g., new stock, supplies, equipment) for distribution, loads/unloads shipments, checks quantity & item conditions, records information & ships or delivers to respective offices, enters data on manifest system, ships consignments to license agents, processes packaging & shipment of dealer/livery license plates to respective companies, prepares annual inventory certifications, maintains accurate records of all in-coming & outgoing equipment & supplies (e.g., office equipment, paper products, uniforms), prepares & distributes uniform items to appropriate personnel, updates & maintains warehouse, inventory, & uniform files, gathers information & prepares inventory documents, reports, databases &/or ledgers as needed.

Develops, implements & enforces policies & procedures on inventory control & salvage disposal; monitors receipt & disposition of surplus property & re-solves problems involved with inventory supplies.

Performs random physical audits of inventory locations throughout the field/district offices ensuring compliance with department inventory; completes necessary forms & forwards to Department of Administrative Services (DAS) Office of Asset Management Services; coordinates the disposal of useless equipment; evaluates distribution & inventory systems & makes recommendations for improvements.

Maintains wireless devices statewide through Ohio Tangoe (Mobi) system (e.g., orders new devices, upgrades existing devices, disposes of old or outdated equipment, maintains fiscal information).

Attends or participates in material management seminars, training sessions or meetings; picks up, delivers & processes incoming mail from post office; maintains clean vehicles &/or warehouse facility (e.g., sweeps, vacuums &/or washes); answers phones; makes copies; assists with set up/breakdown of boat show/state fair displays.

UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS: May require travel, works in hot/cold environment & outdoors.

Qualifications
18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in inventory control; 3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in electronic data processing related to inventory control; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in public relations.

-Or 9 mos. exp. as Inventory Control Specialist, 64551.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
