Mechanical System Design & Analysis Engineer 3

Contract Position
$59.25-$65.78/Hour

Responsibilities:
- Develop mechanical systems (such as fuel, hydraulics, environmental control systems) component detail and assembly designs.
- Analyze results and perform design reviews.
- Develop and maintain product detail, assembly and installation designs.
- Provide engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests).
- Document processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of mechanical system parts and assemblies.
- Develop basic statements of work.
- Participate in technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
- Oversee suppliers in qualification and testing of mechanical systems components
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree combined with 5 + years of relevant work experience in an Engineering Classification; or a Master’s Degree combined with 3 + years of relevant work experience in an Engineering classification; or PhD Degree with experience in an Engineering classification.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical system design or analysis.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the aerospace industry
- Experience with aircraft or rotorcraft mechanical systems
- Experience working with CATIA
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- Experience with aircraft or rotorcraft hydraulic system components design, qualification, and requirements – pumps, actuators, valves, etc.
- Experience with aircraft or rotorcraft fuel system components including design, qualification, and requirements – pumps, valves, fuel bladders, gauging system, etc.
- Experience with aircraft or rotorcraft ECS system components including design, qualification, and requirements – fans, heat exchangers, avionics cooling, air supply and distribution, sensors, and controls, etc.
- Experience with aircraft or rotorcraft Engine control system development, integration, and testing
- Experience with the integration and installation of hydraulic, fuel, and ECS sub-systems and components in aircraft
