As the Associate Director, Ethics, Risk & Compliance (ERC) Advisor, you will assist the ERC Business Advisory function with providing tactical advice to support effective management of risks presented by the Commercial, Medical Affairs, Corporate Affairs and Insight & Analytics teams for pending product (e.g., biosimilar) launches. You will provide clear, timely and accurate ERC guidance, including the “why” related to US Healthcare Compliance policies and guidance, and collaborate with ERC colleagues in supporting monitoring and training activities.
The ideal candidate is passionate about helping people around the world access high-quality medicines and ensuring ERC guidance is clear and actionable, while fostering a positive collaboration and partnership with all stakeholders.
You will enhance our Ethics, Risk & Compliance program by furthering our culture of integrity, growth, and accountability.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure Sandoz’s external engagement activities are in compliance with applicable Sandoz policies, procedures and CIA requirements.
• Advise on business activities and initiatives to integrate clear and actionable ERC guidance concerning external engagement activities by Commercial, Medical Affairs and Patient Advocacy teams.
• Be a knowledge expert related to Sandoz healthcare compliance policies, procedures, and CIA requirements and how they apply to associates’ roles and responsibilities throughout the US organization.
• Proactively engage with key stakeholders to identify trends and proactively mitigate key and/or emerging risks within healthcare compliance, with a specific focus on Gx and biosimilars.
• Develop trusted relationships with associates of all levels within key customer groups to promote a Speak Up culture and proactively identify areas where ERC policies may be unclear or confusing and collaborate with ERC associates and key stakeholders to resolve them.
• Support Company and functional onboarding, including ad hoc training and foster new ways of communicating compliance risks and resources across organization.
• Collaborate with global and local ERC team members, and other key stakeholders, to develop risk-based training resources.
• Conduct field monitoring activities aligned with ERC monitoring plan and support risk-based monitoring plans, as needed.
• Propose revisions to Sandoz Navigator, the US Healthcare Compliance Policy tool, and/or other compliance guidance based upon business need and/or changing laws, regulations and/or enforcement environment.
• Meticulously document all review activities and materials in the company’s records management system
• Collaborate with leaders and teams across organization to strengthen a positive culture towards compliance and ethical decision making as an integral part of how we pioneer novel approaches to helping people around the world access high quality medicines.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $151,200 and $226,800/year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/23 through 12/31/23, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent university degree required; advanced degree preferred
• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant business experience. • Preferred combination of jobs in pharmaceutical, medical device or biotech companies; or consulting, compliance or legal counseling of pharmaceutical, medical device or biotech companies; or combination thereof
• Understanding of key elements of pharmaceutical compliance program (CIA, policy, monitoring, risk assessment, reporting, etc.) highly preferred
• Initiative and sound judgment
• Ability to influence without authority
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain efficiency
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Diligent attention to detail and keen focus on quality work product
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage complex projects and multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to establish positive and collaborative stakeholder relationships with internal and external associates
• Ability to travel up to 10-20% as business needs require

This opportunity is located at the Sandoz Princeton, NJ site, and will not have the ability to be located remotely. Preference will be given to local candidates not requiring relocation.
