Summary

Site visits are conducted to prevent fraud in the Medicaid System from high and moderate risk providers as defined by CMS. All Wisconsin Medicaid providers who are not fully enrolled in Medicare must have an onsite visit conducted. Per § 455.432 referenced below CMS Requires pre and post enrollment site visits to be conducted at enrollment and revalidation. The DHS Office of the Inspector General will be working with in person on site visits as well as virtual onsite visits. The virtual visits have been clarified as requiring live stream communications, pictures or other images are not accepted. The goal of the site visit is to ensure the provider is operational and has a location that can feasibly perform the work stated in the application. Examples would be per provider type such as a DME supplier should have supplies and a warehouse to store supplies. A home health agency should have a business, work stations for staff, and appropriate functioning capabilities. Wisconsin DHS Office of the Inspector General (OIG) is looking for staff to conduct a visit with the provider to verify the provider’s location (have the provider show outside the building/address), appropriate signage on and around the building, and having a building capable of handling the needs of the business.

Your role in our mission

  • The Inspector will need to call the provider, set up a time to meet, schedule a visit and complete the visit.
  • The in-person site visits require a trip to the provider’s location where a picture of the provider will be taken as well as a look at the provider’s facility to ensure they are a functional provider. Templates will be provided.
  • Document the visit, add documentation to SURS, and send to OIG to complete the approval process.

What you should expect in this role

This is a hybrid location position for the Office of the Inspector General (OIG), Wisconsin Department of Health Services. Will require some travel within the state of Wisconsin, with an estimated four overnight stays per year.

The pay range for this position is $54,300 – $77,500 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
