This position is located in User Support, Richland County.
Are you the One? We are looking for an IT Customer Support Specialist II who will provide courteous and effective Tier I technical support for the DHHS IT Service Desk by assisting with phone coverage, imaging, data entry, equipment setup, and various other IT-related tasks.
- Troubleshoots common issues for users who contact the Helpdesk via phone, email or in-person.
- Creates tickets for technicians on issues that need to be escalated. Creates and closes tickets for issues already resolved.
- Assists other IT Services personnel with various technical issues as well as creating reports.
- Manages setup, transfers and removal of IT equipment in accordance with agency policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma and experience with Medicaid systems, processing eligibility claims or requirements, call center experience, experience working in a Helpdesk environment, or customer service experience.
An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Sitting or standing for long periods of time.
- Lifting requirements: 20 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Medicaid policy and procedure. Knowledge of IBM Cúram including troubleshooting and business processes.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical and non-technical information to personnel with varying skill and knowledge levels.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion.
- Willingness to work in a call center with periods of high activity.
- Ability to quickly adapt to change in system, process, and/or environment.
- Six (6) months of experience working with Medicaid policy, process, or systems.
- Knowledge of SC-specific Medicaid policy and process.
- Experience working with the IBM Cúram product in a Medicaid/CHIP environment.
- Experience providing customer service or support via telephone.
