Sr. OPM Tech (Sustaining), Global Sustaining Operations

The Operations group is looking for an individual who wants to work on a product line responsibility during the mass production, or sustaining, phase of the product life cycle. We are a critical part of the hardware development process. We grow the capabilities of our current systems to meet our needs, and drive continuous improvement for the company. We ensure successful fulfillment for ongoing support post launch by managing product cost, quality and availability.

As an Operations Program Manager you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, design and develop innovative complex RF products. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. Your expertise in program management, technical leadership, and RF product development will be crucial in ensuring the successful delivery of these products, meeting customer requirements, and driving continuous improvement. In this role, you will:

Key job responsibilities

– Demonstrate ability to manage multiple complex projects – work prioritization, planning and task delegation

– Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and expertise throughout the product lifecycle, collaborating with cross functional teams including engineering, NPI, manufacturing and Quality

– Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing and NPI to develop a production scale up plan early

– Collaborate with multiple technical teams to develop early understanding of test infrastructure. Participate in DFM, PFMEAs, data analysis and provide Sustaining perspective

– Develop clear understanding of sourcing strategies, risks and constraints. Prepare for expansion of product into different geographies.

– Identify opportunities for optimization, cost reduction, and performance improvements and feedback to Engineering and NPI teams for future enhancements for next generation products

– Manage inventory health by ensuring efficient inventory flow globally. Involves determining and executing exit strategies for unproductive inventory, and analyzing inventory position

– Improve visibility of inventory systems by designing appropriate reporting and communicate our in-stock plan to partners in finance, supply chain and customer service

– Integrate strong and clear analysis and business rationale into sound decision making

– Travel as required

About the team

The mission of Global Operations Devices, Services & Systems is to lead the program management and act as the single-threaded owners of our In-Market product portfolios. We program manage and leverage the broader organization to drive quality, delivery and cost performance of our products. We partner with Engineering, Product Management, Supply Chain and Factory Operations to launch and deliver products that delight our customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 7+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

– Bachelor’s degree

– Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

– Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

– Experience with end to end product delivery

– Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

– Experience managing technical products or online services

– Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

– Experience with RF technology

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight

– Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools

– Master’s degree

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
