Position Summary
ITS Business Analyst Journey:
At a journey-level, analyzes present business practices and processes and finds ways to improve them. Provides analysis on medium to large-sized mid-complex technology projects. Assists with the project management and reporting of these projects. Serves as a primary contact for technology and business issues that are affected by technology in the department. Exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.
ITS Business Analyst Senior:
At a senior-level, responsible for analyzing present business practices and processes and finding ways to improve on them. Provides analysis on medium to large-sized and complex technology projects. Responsible for project management and reporting of these projects. Serves as a primary contact for technology and business issues that are affected by technology in the department. Exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance and serves as a mentor to junior analysts.
COMPENSATION:
ITS Business Analyst Journey – $5,700.00 – $8,550.00 Monthly
ITS Business Analyst Senior: – $6,897.00 – $10,346.00 Monthly
PLEASE NOTE: While the full salary range is posted, these positions have been budgeted at the starting salary of the range per month.

What You Will Do
ITS Business Analyst Journey:
- Establishes, collects, and organizes business requirements in partnership with County Departments to identify technology and/or business solutions that improve processes.
- Prepares materials for and provides customers and staff personnel with the training processes and usage of software tools; documents and analyzes required information and data; coordinates the implementation of Countywide Enterprise Resource Planning software.
- Maintains in-depth working knowledge of the department’s business policies and/or statutory requirements; identifies potential risks and performs gap analysis.
- Works with department management to implement technology solutions to meet the department’s business needs; facilitates meetings with consultants and County departments to identify challenges and solutions to technology implementation.
- Works with department managers in developing, reporting, and implementing the department’s long and short-range technology plans, schedules, resource allocations, and progress.
- Assists customers and staff personnel with the development of project plans for department IT projects; coordinates project timelines and deliverables using tools such as Smartsheets and Sharepoint.
- Facilitates meetings with consultants and County departments to identify challenges and acquire solutions to technology implementation issues; builds strong relationships with stakeholders and communicates and collaborates with external and internal customers.
- Analyzes and identifies scope for mid-level business case analysis and recommends solutions and improvements to business procedures.
ITS Business Analyst Senior:
- Assists customers and staff personnel with the development of project plans for department IT projects; manages project timelines and deliverables using tools such as Smartsheets and SharePoint for the implementation of projects.
- Prepares and reviews training materials for customers and staff personnel with the training processes and usage of software tools; documents and analyzes required information and data; manages the implementation of Countywide Enterprise Resource Planning software.
- Works with department management to implement technological solutions to meet the department’s business needs; facilitates meetings with consultants and County departments to identify challenges and solutions to technology implementation.

- Analyzes and identifies scope for high-level business case analysis and recommends solutions and improvements to business procedures.
- Serves as the technical advisor to department management; works with the Information Technology Manager in developing, reporting, and implementing the department’s long- and short-range technology plans, schedules, resource allocations, and progress; provides mentoring and direction to junior Analysts.
Performs other duties as appropriate or necessary for performance of the job.

DEPARTMENTS SCHEDULED TO WORK ON HOLIDAYS
Due to operational requirements, some employees will be required to work on holidays. The employee must take the holiday by the end of the month following the holiday at a date approved by their Elected Official or Department Director
SICK LEAVE
Regular full-time employees accrue eight (8) hours per month with a maximum accrual of 960 hours.
VACATION
- 0-5 years: earn eight (8) hours per month with a maximum accrual of 144 hours.
- 5-10 years: earn twelve (12) hours per month with a maximum accrual of 216 hours.
- 10+ years: earn sixteen (16) hours per month with a maximum accrual of 288 hours.
New hires are eligible to use vacation time after six (6) months of continuous service with Pueblo County.
RETIREMENT
All Regular Full-Time employees and Elected Officials are required to participate in the County Retirement Plan upon completion of one (1) month of continuous employment. A pre-tax deduction of 8.25% will be deducted from the employee’s monthly pay.
