Position Overview

This is an entry level position for a recent college graduate. Align seeks an IT Project Analyst to address the pivotal role of project coordination, reporting to a Senior Project Manager within Workplace Technology. The Project Analyst will be a multitalented, disciplined individual with an interest in and understanding of IT infrastructure and workplace technologies. We seek a technically savvy recent college graduate with a passion for end user technology and innovation, that also has the consultative skills required to grow into a Project Manager. This is a unique opportunity for recent college graduates to work across various solutions and technologies within our Workplace Technology Line of Business to help assess what interests them most and to get broad experience early in their career. Analysts receive training while being mentored by senior IT consultants and Project Managers. You will have the opportunity to shape your career as you hone your technical, consultative and project management skills.

The ideal candidate will have a combination of technical and soft skills, including the ability to think critically and possess a strong grasp of data analysis. Qualified candidates must be detail-oriented with excellent communication and writing skills. This person must be organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
The IT Project Analyst will be based in our New York City office; however, some occasional travel should be expected

This is a full-time employment position offering comprehensive benefits, an expected salary between $50K and $65K depending on experience , paid training and performance-based compensation
Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site consulting support for Align Workplace Technology clients as directed by the assigned Solutions Director or Project Manager
  • This is not a software development position, this role will focus on projects related to IT Construction Project Management, IT Infrastructure / IT Physical Layer, Low Voltage Cabling Design, but candidates will need to be technically savvy to earn about supporting technologies such as O365, Wireless Networking, Security and AV/Collaboration
  • Candidates must have a passion for innovation and an will learn about IoT Technology in the Workplace and do the research as need to help our clients to leverage these technologies for Smart Building Automation and Experience Applications such as Igor, Molex, Microsoft Azure Digital Twins, and Cisco Connected Workplace)
  • Become familiar with and work on Workplace Technology projects helping to implement and/or integrate several of the following technologies as needed:
    • Building Management Systems (BMS)
    • IoT
    • Gadgets
    • Video Surveilance
    • Physical Security / Access or Entrance Controls
    • WiFi and 5G Designs
    • Desktop hardware and operating systems
    • Presence and collaboration tools (MS Teams, Zoom, Cisco WebEx)
    • AV
    • Room Booking and Hoteling Solutions
    • Bring-your-own-device (BYOD) and Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools
  • Participate in various IT project management activities including site surveys, needs assessments, preparation of documentation, scheduling vendor installations, data analysis and coordination of various project deliverables
  • Contribute to the RFP process, project planning, current-state vs. target-state assessments and client presentations
  • Assist with the administration of projects including acting as a scribe and transcribing meeting minutes, making updates to budget and project plans, creating project documentation, etc.
  • Participate it IT Transformation Projects including current to target state technology assessments and technology roadmap development
  • Work with the CAD team to create visuals of network diagrams and floor plans using graphics programs, such as Visio and Asset Point
  • Assist with client billing
  • Become knowledgeable of company standards and procedures
  • Learn the Align toolset including Asset Point, CAD, ASMT, CFD, etc.
  • Align professionals are expected to continually enhance their professional and business skills, and are encouraged to take advantage of opportunities provided on the job and through participation in training programs both internally and externally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree related to IT, Engineering Management, Business Analysis or Project Management
  • IT Project Management career trajectory
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio
  • Some IT infrastructure (Coud, Systems, Network, Security) product/industry knowledge
  • Willing to be hands on and develop a deep skills set around the IT physical layer and IT Construction Project Management related to new Office Build Out and Re-Configuration of Office Space.
  • A passion to evaluate and leverage new and emerging technologies to drive innovation related to Workplace Technology such as End User Technologies, AV, Collaboration, IT Infrastructure, and Cloud
  • Relevant internship or co-op experience related to IT infrastructure, End User Technology, Workplace Technology, IT Construction Project Management is preferred
  • Must be eager to learn
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and writing skills are required
  • Excellent analytical and facilitation skills, with proven ability to manage multiple projects, resolve and escalate issues and prioritize technical resources
  • Ability to maintain focus, shift attention quickly to respond to the unexpected while progressing on tasks/projects
