Job Summary:
Responsible for the management of investigative exception based POS analytics, assists with ecommerce investigative analysis, develops and assists with managing corporate Loss Prevention and Safety Programs by planning, defining and determining the scope of LP/S report needs as based on knowledge of retail LP/S systems, initiatives, investigations and metrics.
Duties and Responsibilities:
– Manages and conducts internal and external theft investigations, suspected unethical conduct, accidents, workplace violence, fraud, waste or abuse and ensure that activities are conducted within the framework of established departmental investigative policies and protocols. Conducts and provides oversight on overnight surveillance activities, covert camera installations, investigations, and the interviewing of all dishonest associates, vendors and contractors. Prepares and ensures that results of all investigations are documented professionally in reports according to departmental standards.
– Provides staff assistance to NEXCOM enterprise management for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating loss prevention programs which include; safety, physical security, and operational review functions. Recommends and implements modifications to programs, procedures, standards, and techniques on all matters involving loss prevention, asset protection and safety to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
– Utilizes LP/S systems and programs to develop, plan and design various reporting tools and investigative mechanisms for field retail “brick and mortar” locations based on conceptual knowledge of retail loss prevention to identify and prevent fraud in this area of business, and analyze fraud trends to develop rules and exception reports based on concepts. Validates and analyzes department data by cross-referencing and checking data points; conducting trend analyses; assigning categories and subcategories to data symptoms; evaluating the cause and effect escalation of red flags; interpreting trends to identify root causes and relationship to current initiatives; reviewing results with key stakeholders and identifying solutions; and conducting predictive modeling to determine potential impacts, risks, or escalation points.
– Possess a thorough understanding and effective use of data analysis tools and inventory management systems, to effectively detect, investigate, and resolve problems. Utilizes, but is not limited to Aspect, APIS, ReD, ReDi, Audit Command Language (ACL), Microsoft Access , Smart Query Lookup, Essbase, Central Office, TOAD, Discoverer, RMS,SIM, and Lawson systems.
– Utilizes ASPECT to analyzes theft trends and develop exception reports based on concepts. Uses data derived from exception reports to initiate investigations within NEX locations. Communicates with field managers to ensure information derived from reports is researched, ensures investigations are initiated and resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
– Utilizes APIS to develop and analyze statistical case data for corporate and field level LP/S Management review and planning.
– Develops and defines scope of reports within APIS and Aspect based on LP/S knowledge and experience to support LP/S (HQ/field/store) in investigations. Provides end user access to APIS and Aspect reporting based on hierarchy.
– Identify investigative opportunities in an on-line environment (e.g., Craig’s List, E-bay) and initiates investigations on potential theft incidents.
– Assists with development and conducts training for all levels of APIS and ASPECT users.
– Assist ecommerce investigative team as necessary with fraud review and case development.
– Provides analysis of electronic data using Audit Command Language (ACL) to identify problems associated with theft issues.
– Analyzes workers compensation and property/casualty program/claims for trends. Develops and provides reports/results to the field.
– Responsible for the development and management of metrics for the Loss Prevention/Safety dashboard.
– Develops and ensures strong relationships, partnerships, and communication skills at all levels of the organization to include Corporate, District, Store Operations, as well as other Loss Prevention/Safety Industry professionals.
– Assists in developing specific reports for District and Store LP/S managers as requested.
– Provides field support for investigations.
– Develops specific ASPECT reports for District and Store LP/S Managers as requested.
– Partners with Code I to manage ASPECT and APIS user accounts.
– Manages Civil Demand Program, develops and provides reports/results to the field. Ensures all field locations are utilizing program to full potential and partners with Code F to collect unpaid accounts via TOPS or garnishment.
– Analyzes CVS program, develops and provides reports/results to the field. Ensures any potential investigations have been brought to resolution by communicating with field management.
– Manages the Over/Short program providing reports/results to the field. Ensures any potential investigations have been resolved by communicating with field management.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
A total of five years experience, consisting of the following:
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Three years of responsible experience gained in administrative, investigative, or loss prevention fields that has enabled the applicant to gain skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships, and the ability to exercise mature judgment.
OR
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: 1 year of related academic study of high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience, up to maximum of a 4 year bachelor’s degree for 3 years of general experience.
AND
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Two years of progressively responsible experience in retail (field/Store) loss prevention which provides analytical, planning, advisory, operational or evaluative work in security/investigations, internal review and control techniques, reducing and controlling inventory shrink, or similar work that demonstrated the knowledge and ability to perform the duties of the position.
