Technical Product Owner, Software

Position Summary

We are seeking an innovative and highly motivated Technical Product Owner who will contribute significantly to the development of cell therapy solutions.

The Technical Product Owner defines stories and approves completed stories in order to achieve product or program goals. The Technical Product Owner acts as a key agile stakeholder and will serve as the interface to translate the user needs from the product manager and create stories based on technical merit. You will collaborate closely with product managers to understand business goals and help identify product solutions to the problems and requirements expressed by our customers. This is an internally facing role.

Responsibilities

    • Create, manage/groom, own, and prioritize the product backlog with end to end ownership
    • Be the product expert for your product area
    • Understand and analyze product requests/requirements and translate them into increments of work for the team
    • Clearly communicate development requirements in Epic and User Story formats
    • Participate in sprint ceremonies, scrums, syncs, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and other meetings
    • Act as a liaison between the team and product management
    • Identify and address risk areas, blockers, and concerns
    • Answer questions from the development team to ensure product functionality meets the expectation of the customer and/or stakeholder by liaising with the product manager
    • Make tradeoffs and balance the business needs versus technical constraints
    • Work with Product Managers to understand product strategy and vision and provide the agile development team with clear vision, direction, and understanding of the product backlog
    • Provide content to release and application documentation for internal and external customers
    • Build high-value products from existing ideas and help develop new ideas based on customer needs and business goals
    • Empower and collaborate with our engineers and designers to build the best products possible
    • Analyze, understand, and share learning from experimentation to build a strong knowledge base of the product

Requirements

    • BS or MS in Computer Science or Software Engineering preferred
    • 5-10 years of extensive, hands-on experience in the semiconductor, biotech automation, or similar industries
    • Certified Scrum Product Owner
    • Proficiency with Azure DevOps workflows, queries and dashboards is a plus
    • In depth understanding of Agile within regulated environment
    • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills
    • Prior experience with FDA regulations and ISO, cGMP, QMS standards
    • Creative, self-motivated, flexible to work in a small company environment and assume a wide variety of tasks
    • Work history with several successful iterations of highly automated instrument design and development (non-biotech industry experience is OK)
    • Desire to be part of a rapidly evolving organization, with a compelling technology, and taking products and processes to the next level
    • Self-awareness, integrity, authenticity, and a growth mindset

Annual Salary Range: $90,000 – $210,000
