Position Announcement
The Noorda Center for the Performing Arts hosts a full complement of performances and events. This position assists in preparation of support areas and theatre spaces to meet all event needs. Under the Technical Director or Production Management, oversee equipment setup and breakdown in lighting, sound, stage carpentry, costuming, artist hospitality, and guest services as assigned.
Summary of Responsibilities
- (40%) Event setup and tear down, including support spaces, for all NCPA events. Furniture layout, setting up and running audio equipment, lighting equipment, and other production equipment as dictated by event needs.
- (30%) Event preparation including site visits, planning meetings, organizing/staging/transporting equipment to be prepared for event move in, and return upon its conclusion.
- (20%) Participation in event run whether supervising equipment or directing guests, other staff, or artists. May be asked to assist in registration, ongoing cleanup, and other guest or production related concerns.
- (10%) Perform other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Previous experience in stage and event production work is required.
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities
- Experience in music, dance, or theatrical performance required.
- Knowledge of basic safety rules and procedures.
- Knowledge of working in busy and complex variable environments.
- Skills in customer service and basic conflict resolution with a proven ability to work with the broad scope of people involved in event management.
- Skilled in logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders and event plans to layout room contents.
- Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
- Ability to learn and maintain a working knowledge of specialty equipment.
