Job Description Summary
The Recreation Leader is responsible for assisting and organizing the set-up, coordination, supervision, and tear down of Recreation programs, activities. Position will assist in the following areas: Preschool, Summer Recreation Program, and Break Camps. Typical hours are weekday mornings, with occasional evening events.
The ideal candidate will possess at least six months of experience in the field of recreation or a related field. A valid Driver’s License is preferred.

Essential Functions
Experience working in a preschool setting is highly preferred.
Must provide proof of CPR and First Aid Certifications within one month of hire date.
Completion and filing of accident and statistical reports regarding incidents and issues pertaining to programs, as required.
Supervises and implements the distribution, care and use of supplies and/or equipment for assigned programs.
Ensure proper maintenance of recreational facilities and equipment to provide a safe and sanitary environment, notifies supervisor of any problems and/or concerns.
Ensure City policies, procedures, rules, and regulations are strictly enforced; responds to and resolves complaints; advises and provides assistance to individuals and groups on related recreational problems; assist the general public and responds to their questions, comments, and/or concerns.
Performs on-site program inspections and evaluations to ensure compliance with program and city safety policies and procedures.
Maintains awareness of new developments in the recreation field and offer suggestions to the Recreation Programmer or Coordinator.
Attend meetings as assigned. Assist with other recreation programs, as requested. Some positions may require the performance of additional position accountabilities and/or related duties.
Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
Requirements
