Responsibilities
PLEASE NOTE: This role is only for High School students participating in ElevateEd and partnering school districts (Phoenix Union, Mesa, Deer Valley, Paradise Valley, and ASU Prep)
Mayo Clinic in Arizona is seeking high school and college interns for Paid Educational Student Internship opportunities. Interns will work on a specific project that will provide a challenging learning opportunity. Responsibilities will vary based upon your course of study and the business unit to which you are assigned. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills, as well as, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Placement in our internship program does not provide financial assistance with relocation, housing, or transportation. Location may be on the Phoenix or Scottsdale campus. These paid internship opportunities will be in one of the following areas Administration, Department of Nursing, and Radiology. Some of the various roles will include Administrative Assistant, Transport Assistant, Health Unit Coordinator (HUC), Patient Appointment Service Specialist (PASS), Orthopedic Technician Assistant, Medical Administrative Assistant, and Sterile Processing Attendant.
Qualifications
- Candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications for consideration: 2.5 Cumulative GPA.
- Authorized to work in the United States for the entire duration of the internship.
- Currently registered in school as a full-time student
- Prior research and/or health care experience preferred.
- Prior internship experience preferred.
- Please attach the following documents to your application: Resume, Unofficial Transcripts, Letter of Recommendation from Academic Advisor or Professor and a Cover Letter. Include in your cover letter the following: Area of Interest/Area of Study. Express why you are interested in an internship with Mayo Clinic and how this experience will benefit you and your studies. Number of hours per week you are available to intern. If applicable, information on deadlines or requirements to earn academic credit.
