Base pay starts at $16.00 per hour
Shift: Second Shift – 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM – Monday – Friday
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Loading, Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for general labor within the facility. The position ensures shipments are accurately and timely loaded for internal and external customers to business demands. The position offers comprehensive benefits package and paid time off on day one, mentorship support to ensure successful team member growth and development. Overtime is anticipated.
- Knows and understands all safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and about a manufacturing environment
- Package, crate, or load items to insure safe arrival and capacity loading
- Packages parts using all types of crating and packaging materials, metal bands, covering, or other methods to secure and protect parts in shipment and for weighing trucks of items as required
- Ability to operate forklifts, crane, and other lifting equipment
- Responsible for each lift and decides when to check actual vs. maximum allowable trailer load. Must constantly check each load being made to assure that the job is complete. Must expedite completion of work in process to meet production schedules
- Assist with inventory counts as required
- Maintains continuous improvement practices in work area
- May be assigned other projects or duties as designated by the Team Leader
- Reading and understanding work orders to be processed
- Understanding counting by weights, reading fractions and decimals
- Ability to work outdoors year round
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
- Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Ability to work on feet for long hours
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be willing/able to work mandatory overtime and occasional Saturdays
- Willing to learn and take on additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or recognized equivalent
- A minimum of one (1) year of related work experience in a manufacturing environment
- A minimum of one (1) year of forklift experience
- Ability to perform general mathematic calculations including but not limited to addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, percentages, and division. Some positions may require advance mathematics
- Required to use power hand tools
- Required to drive a forklift
- Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines
- Ability to work with a diversified work force
- Ability to read different measuring devices (i.e. tape measure, protractor, micrometer)
- Offers of employment may be contingent upon passing a substance abuse screening test and/or criminal background check
- Before initiating work at Cornerstone Building Brands, the employee is required to read and understand the position’s Job Safety Analysis
- The employee must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and perform tasks in a manner consistent with Cornerstone Building Brands safety training
