Summary: Implement the RES Safety Management System (SMS) on wind, solar distribution, substation, transmission, or energy projects in the US.

Specific Duties:

  • Promotes company safety culture through coaching, development, influence, and training.
  • Acts as subject matter expert liaison for health and safety for the project and client.
  • Prioritizes, as needed, the daily, weekly, and monthly goals and tasks for other Safety Supervisors working on the project.
  • Develops and maintains site specific documentation and templates that include Site Safety Plan, Site Rules, Emergency Response Plans, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and Site Induction.
  • Leads safety related discussion at Plan of the Day (POD) Meetings, All Hands Meetings, Safety Committee Meetings, Staff Meetings, Tailgate Meetings, and Client/ Owner Monthly Meetings.
  • Deliver training on Safety Initiatives, Site Induction, Work Procedures, Work Instructions, SMS, and regulatory requirements.
  • Inspect work areas to verify consistency with procedural, client, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicates safety related incidents to Corporate Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) Department, across business unit and the organization.
  • Conducts Incident Investigations to determine Root Cause and recommend appropriate Corrective Actions.
  • Develop Incident Reports to support findings from Incident investigations.
  • Assists HSQE Department in the development of “Safety Alerts” related to the incident to help create awareness across the business unit and organization.
  • Drives implementation of proposed Corrective Actions to completion.
  • Implement Corporate Drug and Alcohol Testing Procedure.
  • Maintain incident data and safety metrics to compile weekly and monthly reports.
  • Facilitates audits and inspections by third parties and regulatory agencies.
  • Reinforces safe behaviors and correct “at risk” behaviors.
  • Procure, distribute, and maintain safety related tools and equipment (AED, Eye Wash Station, Fire Extinguishers, First Aid Kits, etc.) for the project.
  • Ensures all site team members understand standard operating procedures.
  • Leads and supports the site team in technical, quality, and safety, utilizing system in place.
  • Operates company vehicle in a safe manner to drive to various site locations.
  • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.
  • Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.
  • Performs any other job-related duties/functions as requested Lead Safety Supervisor and/or HSQE Department.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • 1 – 5 years of Construction Industry or equivalent experience (required).
  • Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic Certification (required).
  • Previous Experience in a 911 environment (minimum 2 years)
  • Renewable Energy Industry experience (preferred).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or similar (preferred).
  • CHST/CUSP/OHST Certification (preferred).
  • OSHA 30/510 (required).
  • Fall Prevention/Climbing/Rescue Training (preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license (required).
  • Eligible for corporate vehicle insurance coverage (required).

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

The work environment and physical demands characteristics are representative of those the employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Performs primarily sedentary office duties with occasional travel to other Company offices or construction sites. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds and is required to sit, stand, walk and use a computer.

The construction site environment includes early stage permitting, development and auditing through finished roads and features. Extensive travel with driving to remote sites along with office work in field conditions is also included.

RES maintains a drug-free work environment. Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment background investigation and drug test as a condition of employment. We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States; however, we currently are not providing visa sponsorship or hiring individuals who will need visa sponsorship in the future.

Anticipated base salary range: $77,000 – $90,000
Per Diem: Premium Daily Per Diem paid for food, lodging, and rotational travel

The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
