Overview and Responsibilities
Paramount is looking for a Director Production Finance! The Director for the MTV Entertainment/Showtime Studios supports the financial oversight and management of the budgeting, reporting, forecasting, and performance tracking activities for MTV Entertainment’s portfolio of Series Productions, specifically scripted content. Responsibilities include partnering with Content Programming Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis, Production Management, and various internal teams across Paramount Global with regards to finance policies and accounting overview for all production and network analysis.
• Advise teams to ensure overall Paramount Global and production finance policies, procedures, and standard processes are established and adhered to
• Attract, onboard, grow, and retain production finance professionals to support productions
• Build and manage day-to-day relationships for scripted internal series productions and 3rd Party produced productions across MTV Entertainment/Showtime Studios
• Coordinate and review production budgets, provide recommendations and lead cost reporting meetings with production to analyze the current status of potential opportunities and risks and communicate key findings to partners accurately
• Analyze and accurately forecast Production Cash Flows
• Identify and analyze the cause of change between monthly forecasts through ongoing meetings with finance and production teams; communicate risks and opportunities, ensure that all data is accurately loaded and reported through various financial systems. Partner with Senior Director on findings and manage information to partners
• Coordinate with internal finance teams to reflect timely EFC updates and long range plan information
• Efficiently review and analyze contracts in conjunction with Production Executives and Legal Affairs
• Touchpoint for 3rd party production finance counterparts regarding funding cash flows, budget, residuals, license fees, agency/package fees, and all pertinent production finance materials
• Provide innovative recommendations on performance measures, strategy around production schedules and financial control procedures related to development and production
• Partner with Paramount Global Tax, Controllers Group, MTVE Production Management to ensure production tax credits are accurately calculated, recognized and completed. This includes overseeing the preparation, submission and tracking of tax documents and financial backup and recoupment
• Manage ad hoc requests regarding development and series production matters, internal/external audit requests, payment details as necessary
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree a plus; a focus in Finance or Accounting preferred.
• 8+ years of experience within the media/entertainment landscape, with at least 2 years in a leadership role at the production or corporate level.
• Proficiency in production accounting software (Smart Accounting, PSL), Movie Magic Budgeting and Excel
Additional Qualifications
• Knowledge of the entertainment industry, specifically accounting for episodic scripted TV shows
• Understanding of how production finance operations domestically and internationally
• Experience with production tax incentives and related filing process
• Working knowledge and experience with union/guild agreements and production payroll
• Ability to build partnerships with producers, production team, internal and external partners

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $125,000.00 – 165,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
