Graphic Designer, Social & Digital Media (freelance)

Overview and Responsibilities:

Paramount is seeking a skilled digital designer to join its corporate marketing team! The Graphic Designer’s primary focus will be to create static graphics, animations, videos, and other multimedia content. This role is a key member of the content team, which supports the marketing and communications goals of Paramount and is responsible for the content across Paramount’s corporate website, Newsroom, social media, and internal communications channels.

This is a full-time, contract role based in NYC. The team is hybrid, working Tuesdays and Wednesdays in-office and the other days remote. For consideration, portfolios required with application and resume (include passwords as needed).

The successful candidate will be both a creative leader and an eager collaborator. They will be proactive, hands-on, and detailed. Own projects from ideation through to execution, and work in a fast-paced environment. We need a creative problem solver who can bring ideas to life in an engaging and dynamic way. Ability to thrive in collaboration, while also embracing ownership and autonomy as the team’s primary creative resource. Seeking forward-thinking and team-minded motion designers who love the challenge of creating the best visual execution of a concept while working within Paramount’s brand identity and are an expert in the best practices and nuances of digital and social platforms. The Designer will be the sole in-house person responsible for the end-to-end delivery of all Paramount corporate social media and content marketing assets that effectively communicate our corporate brand positioning to our target audiences. This role will work closely with the content team to help implement a comprehensive marketing communications strategy and reports to the Sr. Director, Marketing.

  • Concept, design and create visually appealing and engaging digital content (graphics, animations, videos, and other multimedia content) for our website, social media platforms, emails, and other digital channels using our existing brand design system
  • Assist with the creative process and execution for content capture at in-person events including internal company events, executive photo shoots, and video productions
  • Help to create briefs and compile reference files for projects involving external design partners and creatives
  • Collaborate with the content team-including participating in brainstorm meetings, weekly content meetings, and daily conversations-and adhere to the approval process for all assets
  • Communicate with managers and colleagues to update project timelines and report on progress
  • Manage and organize raw media and finished assets for storage and backup
  • Work with the Sr. Social Manager to leverage data and analytics to enhance understanding of content performance, and recommend asset updates to improve content performance

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience creating both static and animated media assets for a global brand
  • 5+ years professional graphic design experience
  • Strong portfolio of digital assets + motion graphics
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
  • Skilled in using video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or iMovie
  • Deep and thorough knowledge of social platforms (especially LinkedIn and Instagram)

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web design principles
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other team members
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines
  • Ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines
  • Passion and intellectual curiosity around emerging technologies, social trends, and content marketing
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships and work across cross-functional teams
  • Videography and/or photography skills are a plus!

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $72,900.00 – 97,200.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
