Overview
Vermont Treasurer Mike Pieciak seeks an energetic, diligent, and experienced Executive Director to launch a new public retirement-savings program, VT Saves. VT Saves will provide access to retirement savings for employees who do not otherwise have access to a workplace plan, via a Roth 401k. The ideal candidate shares the Treasurer’s vision of equitably increasing access to retirement savings and financial security and has the administrative and policy expertise to implement a new statewide program.
The ED will work directly with the Treasurer, Deputy Treasurer, and other Treasury leadership. The Executive Director will hire and supervise at least one additional staff member. The ED will have the following primary responsibilities:
- Develop, evaluate, and implement program policies, procedures, goals, and budget;
- Recommend revisions to VT Saves statutes, promulgate administrative rules and internal policies, in consultation with legal counsel and others;
- Prepare written reports to Treasurer, Legislature, and the public;
- Serve as primary contact for the program with other state programs, investment professionals, business-community partners, Vermonters, and the media;
- Work with Communications Director to develop and implement a comprehensive outreach and engagement strategy;
- Provide ongoing program oversight, reporting, and analysis;
- Provide reports, testimony, and analysis to Legislature and other Executive branch officials and agencies.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree is required with five (5) or more years’ experience working with the development and implementation of complex programs or initiatives, preferably in the retirement or investment space; or equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform position duties.
Preferred Qualifications
A Graduate degree in related field preferred.
