Job Description
Responsible for scheduling, tagging and balancing power and transmission contracts on a daily basis. This position performs after-the-fact accounting and billing functions, tagging and maintaining records of transactions and system operation, compliance with Washington Climate Commitment Act scheduling protocols, in a manner that will meet business requirements, while minimizing the cost of delivered power. Supports wholesale marketing activities in a team environment with power marketing, term trading, real time trading and settlement accounting.
Requirements
Level 1 Minimum and Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field OR 3 years of experience in optimizing generation resources, power scheduling, power marketing, trading energy products or a related field.
- Ability to utilize and troubleshoot the appropriate computer support.
- Preferred qualifications for Level 1:
- Basic knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures in the fields of power scheduling, e-tagging, procurement, supply management, and transmission preferred.
- Basic knowledge of the tariff provisions of the power and transmission contracts utilized by the company preferred.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of the regulatory implications of the Washington Climate Commitment Act, the Clean Energy Transformation Act and Renewable Energy Credit preferred
- Other combinations of experience and education may be considered.
Level 2 Minimum qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years in position Level 1 or equivalent energy supply experience.
- Has attained comprehensive knowledge and proven competency of the principles, practices, and procedures in the fields of power scheduling, e-tagging and transmission optimization.
- Broad knowledge of the tariff provisions of the power and transmission contracts utilized by the company.
- Requires comprehensive knowledge of the power industry, accounting contract principles, negotiating techniques, and the use of software applications for managing data retention.
- Must be able to utilize and troubleshoot the appropriate computer support.
Demonstrated ability to be a self-motivated, a team player, and work independently with minimal supervision. Other combinations of experience and education may be considered.
