Job Summary
Operates heavy & light construction equipment, including backhoes, cable plow, Mini-Ex, Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) & other types of machinery & assures maintenance of these as required.
Responsibilities
- Traffic Control set up & tear down
- Ability to drive trucks & equipment to job sites
- Other duties as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position
- Maintains company equipment per service requirements and safety guidelines.
- Directly responsible for all personal actions and any personnel, vehicles or equipment in the care, custody, or control.
- Report any personal or vehicle/equipment accidents/incidents immediately to supervisors, corporate and assist in the investigation of same.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- 2 years of experience in utility construction preferred
- Possess general knowledge of construction practices.
- Knowledge of reading and understanding blueprints a plus.
- Willing to work outdoors in all types of weather (i.e., snow, rain, wind, etc.) and work overtime as required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Possess a valid CDL (A) license or be able to attain one.
- Will be required to complete OSHA 10-hour course provided by MasTec.
Traveling Details
- Per Diem 7 days a week – rain or shine.
- Schedule is roughly 3-4 weeks on, 4 days off – timing the breaks over Holidays.
- 50-60 hours per week, overtime applies after 40 hours per week. Work is weather dependent.
- Pay ranges from $25.00-$30.00/hr
