The Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) is seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to serves as a Salesforce Business Analyst for the Department of Innovation and Technology. Performs complex professional and advisory business process analysis, and process re-engineering functions for the Salesforce platform. Coordinates and conducts complex business process analysis, detailed requirements analysis, in-depth technical research, feasibility studies, and feasibility studies on-site and at user provided facilities. Creates detailed process diagrams, data flow diagrams, and other graphical models that represent business and system requirements and technical descriptions. Job Responsibilities

40% Serves as Salesforce Business Analyst for the Department of Innovation and Technology:
• Performs complex professional and advisory business process analysis, and process re-engineering functions for the Salesforce platform.
• Coordinates projects and conducts business requirements workshops with key stakeholders and users to determine business requirements.
• Tracks, monitors and reports on milestones, interval progress, projects constraints and constraint mitigation.
• Identifies, analyzes, designs, tests and implements the changes related to requirements or business process.
• Coordinates and conducts complex business process analysis, requirements gathering and detailed requirements analysis, in-depth technical research, feasibility studies, and feasibility studies on-site and at user provided facilities.
• Creates detailed process diagrams, data flow diagrams, and other graphical models that represent business and system requirements and technical descriptions.
• Writes user stories, use cases, and program specifications.
• Participates in design, testing, training, knowledge transfer, system tuning, and system implementation in order to translate and track results of business analysis through entire system development life cycle (SDLC) using Waterfall and Agile methodology.
• Ensures requirements traceability throughout software development/delivery.
• Researches Salesforce.com best practices and applies functionality in performance and maturity of the platform.
• Utilizes tools/technologies such as MS Office Suite, MS Project, MS Teams, MS SharePoint, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio and Azure DevOps (ADO) during the course of these duties.
• Utilizes agile methodologies during the course of these duties.
• Maintains satisfactory working relationships with vendors and others.
• Works outside of normal business hours to meet deadlines, as necessary.

35% Prepares testing plans, test scripts, and test data for new or modified programs and/or systems.
• Works with test team to ensure logic paths are tested.
• Evaluates test results to verify conformance with program objectives.
• Prepares user and operational guidelines, operational manuals, and prepares testing plans, test scripts, and test data for new or modified programs and/or systems.

• Follows the agency’s adopted system design methodology to ensure the integrity of each system/sub-system meets the required standards of security, efficiency, and scope of the specific project.

15% Analyzes and recommends new procedures and techniques to improve the requirements gathering, articulation process and data modeling, testing and documentation process.
• Prepares and makes presentations to large and small audiences with clarity and precision.
• Provides mentoring and training to other staff when needed.
• Plans and recommends training requirements that are necessary for effective performance.

5% Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology field.
• Continues education by attending meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and maintain current on Information Technology products, vendors, techniques and procedures applicable to unit activities.
• Attends demonstrations and exhibitions related to assigned operations.
• Travels to attend training, seminars, conferences, etc., when held off-site.

5% Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
  2. Requires three (3) years of professional experience in Information Technology applications services or a related field.

Specialized Skills

  1. Requires three (3) years of professional experience in software development delivery.
  2. Requires three (3) years of professional experience as Business Analyst or Project Coordinator.
  3. Requires three (3) years of professional experience with requirement gathering and/ or requirement management in IT software development.
  4. Requires three (3) years of professional experience with system development life cycle (SDLC) using waterfall and agile methodology.
  5. Requires working knowledge of project management tools such as MS PowerPoint, MS Visio, MS Project, MS Teams Azure, DevOps or similar tools.

Preferred Qualifications (In order of significance)

  1. Three (3) years of professional experience in software development delivery.
  2. Three (3) years of professional experience as a Business Analyst or Project Coordinator.
  3. Three (3) years of professional experience with requirement gathering and/or requirement management in IT software development.
  4. Three (3) years of professional experience with system development life cycle (SDLC) using Waterfall and Agile methodology.
  5. Working knowledge of project management tools such as MS PowerPoint, MS Visio, MS Project, MS Teams Azure, DevOps or similar tools.
  6. Ability to identify, analyze, test, and implement the changes related to requirements or business process.
  7. Ability to plan and recommend training requirements that are necessary for effective performance.
  8. Ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with vendors and others.
  9. Developed verbal and written communication skills to present technical information to large and small audiences with clarity and precision.
  10. Ability to research Salesforce.com best practices and apply functionality in performance and maturity of the platform.
