The City of Surprise’s Transportation Department is seeking a highly motivated civil engineering/transportation professional to seize this opportunity to join its team and play a vital role in the department’s outstanding Traffic Engineering Division!
This will provide you the opportunity to work collaboratively with other city departments, residents, and the development community to ensure that the City of Surprise grows safely and efficiently for the benefit of its residents and businesses. A successful candidate will have the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge of traffic engineering design and traffic impact analyses, traffic signals, transportation planning, roadway design elements, organizational skills, and be able to effectively and responsively communicate the needs of the City’s Transportation Department in a positive and professional manner.

SUMMARY
Incumbents typically perform a variety of civil engineering tasks, including design review and periodic field review of civil improvement projects. Duties also include research and maintenance of engineering information and design work.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, and two years of related civil and/or traffic engineering experience; One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
