Work you’ll do

  • Own and drive the overall strategic positioning and marketing strategy for DEI in alignment with the Purpose strategic positioning strategy, including:
    • Leading the overall DEI strategic positioning, brand efforts, and PR, including related external and internal efforts
    • Working across teams and with multiple stakeholders including the Office of the CEO, Talent, Brand, Risk, and Public Relations to deliver innovative communications both internally to Deloitte’s US and India professionals, and externally
    • Leading integrated communications campaigns, under the leadership of Deloitte’s DEI Leader, and interfacing with senior leaders to drive the DEI strategy and advance priorities.
    • Managing participation at events, awards, publications, and sponsorships in alignment with the overall strategy
    • Managing to an overall plan and calendar to drive the strategy to ensure proper prioritization and utilization of appropriate resources
    • Coordinating with external and internal agencies on all elements encompassing DEI strategic positioning
    • Building a robust media and social media plan for Deloitte’s DEI Leader, as well as other senior leaders, to amplify Deloitte’s strategic priorities and commitment to DEI
    • Positioning Deloitte as a thought leader, committed to DEI and making an external impact to lead the change we want to see in the world
    • Coordinating across the Purpose and DEI Office to provide visibility and opportunities / connection points to the broader strategy
    • Measuring success against the strategy, experimenting with new campaigns / channels / activities and pivoting to others if not successful
  • Develop and drive the Firm’s DEI messaging in alignment with the overall Purpose and DEI Office objectives, including developing and disseminating all internal and external communications
  • Manage relationships with Deloitte’s internal agency and Brand organization for execution of internal and external communications and marketing
  • Collaborate with relevant Brand, Marketing, and PR professionals across the Firm to understand upcoming content DEI leadership should promote and DEI content other leaders should promote

Deloitte’s Purpose & DEI Office Strategic Positioning team provides value to the U.S. Firms by delivering innovative marketing, communications, and brand strategies and approaches for internal and external audiences. We build and protect our brand, and help our leaders influence positive behaviors, drive change, reinforce successes, and promote a strong sense of community through coordinated, consistent messaging. From concept to delivery, we help our leaders reach their audience and achieve a consistent standard of excellence using proven communication methodologies.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years or equivalent experience in multi-dimensional organizations
  • Experience building, owning, and executing strategic positioning and marketing & communications strategies
  • Understanding of core DEI concepts, such as familiarity with the history of race in the U.S., with demonstrated willingness to continually learn and unlearn
  • Strong communications leadership skills, including writing and editing skills and previous writing/editing experience in internal communications, PR, or journalism fields required
  • Experience in successfully managing and delivering executive communications requests in a large-scale corporate environment preferred
  • Exceptional organization, strategic planning, and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize large sets of information, extract insights and cohesive, clear, straightforward messaging
  • Experience in managing, empowering, and motivating professionals, and teaming across Deloitte
  • Experience owning and driving stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to counsel senior leaders regarding the National DEI communications strategy, priorities, and programs and measure/communicate progress.
  • Strong knowledge of best practices in corporate communications
  • Experience in measuring the effectiveness of communication strategies and approaches
  • Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word; knowledgeable in all aspects of Microsoft Office and ancillary programs

Preferred

  • Be a creative thinker, someone who has can successfully adopt innovative marketing and communication platforms and tools, including leading-edge public relations strategies
  • Navigate a highly matrixed organizational structure and make the strategic connections across internal and external marketing, communications, and brand to drive success, including the proven ability to manage external agencies
  • Be a leader, team player, and proactive professional with strong executive presence and who works and thinks strategically, while guiding the team at the tactical level to deliver high-value communications results
  • Always maintain discretion and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive or proprietary information
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $144,300 to $296,100

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
