JOB DESCRIPTION:
Primary Purpose of Role:
The Solution Architect (SA) for Application development will provide leadership, analysis and design of tasks related to the development and management of a portfolio of IT solutions. These actions support the enterprise architecture by development of technology solutions that meet business needs and align with architectural governance and standards. Key for this role is the understanding of the concepts of business goals, business objectives, business outcomes, business capabilities, value-streams, and business processes and their importance in solution architecture. Create deliverables for managing the organization’s portfolio of current state and future state solutions. The SA for Application development will be responsible for application development strategy, platforms, and cloud services.
Key Responsibilities:
• The SA for Application Development will work collaboratively with other SA”s, IT leadership, business partners, internal and contract development teams to provide guidance, establish guardrails, and manage application development.
• Provide extensive knowledge of the software development process/technologies, architectural styles/design patterns.
• Monitor current solutions and research new software technology concepts and tools to effectively manage the lifecycle of existing solutions and ensure continual business value over time.
• Leads evaluation, design, and analysis for the implementation of solutions across technologies within the enterprise architecture governance structure
• Support projects and product teams by providing senior technical experience to guide and resolve software architecture questions or conflicts
• Actively participants in the architecture governance processes to ensure adherence to standards, principles, guidelines, and solution patterns
• Actively participates in the development and socialization of strategic road maps for products and application areas of responsibility.
• Actively participate in the identification of opportunities and/or gaps that exist between current state and the target architecture, and establish plans, including level of effort, cost, duration, and risks to closing the gaps and/or capitalizing on the opportunities identified
• Develop and maintain current and future state architecture models and roadmaps for Application related technology and services.
• Provide deep technical knowledge and support on an as needed basis for IT operations staff.
• Collaborate with business and develop design plan for system based off requirements.
• Mentoring and coaching development team members.
• Provide cost/benefit analysis documentation for proposed solutions.
• Creating/maintaining design documentation.
• Facilitates and ensures compliance of government or regulatory standards (SOX, PCI, internal audit, external audit, CMMC, etc.).
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
• Bachelor”s Degree (preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Software Engineering) or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of experience in application design and development
• 7+ years of experience in Information technology
• Certifications or training relative to key application development areas. Azure Dev Ops, .Net, java, Docker, Agile/Scrum, Lo-Code/No-code, etc.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:
• Demonstrated skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation
• Documented experience leading technical teams and projects deploying enterprise level technology solutions.
• Demonstrated experience as a technical resource on a Product and/or Project team
• Experience working with IT service providers in an outsourced model.
• Experience with industry best practices and frameworks, such as but not limited to AGILE, NIST, COBIT, ITIL, TOGAF, PMI, etc.
