The College of Arts and Sciences is seeking an experienced (1 ) Laboratory Coordinator for the chemistry department.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
The ideal candidate for this role is critical to the normal operations of the department. This position will work closely with the Laboratory Supervisor, the Associate Chair, and the Chair of the Department. This position will be responsible for managing nursing, organic chemistry, and general chemistry instructional facilities. The Laboratory Coordinator’s duties will include coordinating over 30 chemistry laboratory sections each year, with approximately 46-48 students per section.
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Associate Director, Administrative are the following:
- Prepare all solutions and unknowns, and set up the student drawer with glassware, keys, etc.
- Purchase supplies, equipment, and chemicals
- Supervise and train laboratory assistants; supervise students working in lab
- Set up lab before and clean up after each session
- Prepare check-in and out paperwork; maintain records
- Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, coordinate with housekeeping, physical plant, and outside maintenance vendors
- Assist faculty in teaching and conducting laboratory procedures

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree; Field of Study: Chemistry; Work Experience: 1 year.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry.
