Pay Rate Information

This is a temporary to permanent hire Service Contract Act position with an hourly pay rate of $20.65 that includes a Health and Welfare Benefit of $4.41 an hour.

Service Contract Act, or SCA, position pay rates are determined by the U.S. Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division.

Upon completion of six (6) months of employment, the selected candidate can expect an annual salary as a permanent full-time employee with the federal contractor.

– with the potential for annual extensions through May 31, 2027
– preference for placement/transfer as federal contract employee after six (6) months employment with C&C International

Document Management Technician
Qualifications:

  • Ability to perform detailed work consistently, accurately, and under pressure extremely important
  • Ability to read and follow instructions
  • Ability to understand task, task objectives, and the context of the task in the litigation support effort as a whole
  • Must take the initiative to ask questions when necessary to complete task correctly (e.g. where instructions are not explicit or appear to be contrary to the task objective)
  • Typing/keyboarding skills and good communication skills
  • Knowledgeable user of the government’s office and network environment, including but not limited to, word processing, database, spreadsheet, imaging, and telecommunications systems

Preferred Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree preferred
Litigation support experience valued

Document Management Technician
Responsibilities/Duties:

Work under the direction of Task Supervisor or Document Management Analyst, performs the following tasks while complying with established procedures for:

o preparing deposition and trial exhibits; entering data on-line to case files and other databases;
o proofreading, editing, correcting Optical Character Recognition, OCR, processed text files
retrieving and blowing back documents and digital image media;
o filing, retrieving, and copying case file materials; creating witness binders

o tabbing, numbering, labeling, assembling documents;
o filling out log sheets and reporting on task progress;
o and performing quality control on the work of peers in all of these areas.
• Prepares documents for image scanning; performs other document collection related activities, including document screening, and labeling of files to be scanned. Performs simple database searches
• Schedule appointments, meetings, engagements, and conferences
• Review, screen, and control incoming mail
• Receive and review incoming correspondence and forwards each item to the appropriate Assistant U.S. Attorney, AUSA, or to other staff based on a knowledge of the duties and functions of the United States Attorney’s Office
• Receive telephone calls and visitors, screening those which can be handled without help
• Maintain legal and general office files
• Review outgoing correspondence for procedural and grammatical accuracy, format, and presentation. Brings errors to the attention of the writer
• Searches file for material used in recurring reports. Assembles file data or secures data from staff members into the proper format based on the purpose and nature of the report.
• Produce written documents utilizing a range of office automation software. Retrieves required information from various files and records and prepares legal documents with complicated formatting
• Ensures proper spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and grammar
• Consults with document author to resolve questionable material
• Use office software, provide automated litigation assistance to attorneys by preparing charts and other specialized materials relating to trial preparation and presentations.
• Use a variety of applications to search and retrieve information necessary to complete assigned tasks: e.g., an internal case management database, files located on shared file network, and external sources such as court records
• Use established procedures and policies to aid in the preparation of litigation case files and other records to shipped to an off-site location; locate and retrieve materials identified as subject to shipment; record shipment data into an internal case management system; assemble physical files in boxes for long term storage
