PUBLIC/PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS MANAGER

The Public/Private Partnerships Manager reports to the Deputy Chief Service Officer, Community Engagement to lead and manage strategic corporate and business partnerships for NYC Service. This position oversees a team of 2, including a Service Fellow and Intern, and work in collaborating with the Youth Partnerships Manager. Key responsibilities include: Project Management & Expansion:
• Lead strategy to promote community-focused engagement between corporate/business partners and NYC communities, building commitment to authentic and mutually beneficial partnerships
• Oversee management of key corporate service programs/initiatives, including: o Crafting and leading an annual volunteer pledge campaign to build commitment for corporate service responsibility to serve TRIE neighborhoods and new initiatives, designed by the administration centered around supporting the career development of young people o Bolstering the engagement of business volunteers as mentors in several initiatives: coordinating one off Speed Mentoring sessions for young women with corporate and city partners; coordinating longer term (5 session) engagement with our STEP Mentoring Program (in collaboration with DYCD and other city agencies); and hosting an Annual Citywide Speed Mentoring Day each spring o Coordinating annual MLK Day and 911 service projects for business volunteers o Support the Youth Partnerships Manager to build out our Be In-Kind portfolio with mayoral employees and business partners, including an annual Secret Snowflake campaign to provide gifts for families during the holiday season and Project Move-In each spring to provide materials for college bound youth who are in transition from moving out of NYC shelters o Coordinating the annual Mayoral Service Recognition Program, including managing the annual MSRP awards process and leading the NYC Service team to plan the public event in April for National Volunteer Month
• Support the Strategic Initiatives team in the implementation of pro bono/skills-based volunteer projects
benefitting city agency priorities
• Provide expertise and support to business partners to connect with community partners and for
employee volunteer engagement programs and/or days of service
• Design resources and tools to support business partners to effectively implement employee volunteer
programming
• Lead the coordination of the NYC Corporate Volunteer Council quarterly meetings and an annual
summit to bring business partners together to hear about city needs and Mayoral priorities
• Identify ongoing opportunities to position NYC Service as a thought leader in the corporate social
responsibility/employee volunteer engagement space Private Partnerships and Stewardship:
• Manage portfolio of corporate relationships and cultivate new relationships with a goal of achieving
a strong connection to NYC Service and sense of mission alignment
• Engage corporate partners long-term and offering tangible touch points through employee volunteer
engagement opportunities
• Collaborate with NYC Service teams to cultivate corporate volunteer, in-kind, and financial support
for programs
• Oversee the maintenance of systems and records for all corporate prospects and supporters

Minimum Qual Requirements

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to “1” or “2” above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in “1” above.

Preferred Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree, MA preferred but not required
• 3-7 years of relevant experience in a professional setting
• Strong knowledge of/experience with the NYC business and nonprofit sectors; experience in private
sector a plus
• Strong experience interfacing and collaborating with high-level leaders
• Strong knowledge and skills in corporate social responsibility
• Strong outreach and relationship-building skills
• Strong project design and management experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to manage competing deadlines
• Ability to work independently and effectively in teams
• Knowledge of City agencies and Mayoral offices, and experience with inter-agency coordination a plus
• Excellent communication skills: public speaking, presentations, interpersonal communication, and both
formal and informal writing.
• Excellent project management skills: time-management, multi-tasking, adherence to deadlines,
organization of information and logistics, as well as analytical, research, and creative thinking and
problem solving strategies.
• Ability to take initiative, prioritize duties, work independently and within a team environment, pay close
attention to detail, meet deadlines, maintain appropriate follow-up.
• Occasional nights/weekends required for events.

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
