The opportunity

The EY Global Executive Positioning team is seeking a senior level communications professional to lead the firm’s premiere global sponsorships, programs, and memberships for the Office of the Chairman. This role is charged with managing the day to day activities and events for the year round engagements.

The ideal candidate is a polished professional with strong expertise in senior-level stakeholder management, a critical component of the role. This role also needs to be someone who has exceptional project management, relationship marketing, and event planning skills.

The individual will be adept at directing, leading, and managing a high profile event portfolio with a broad array of business, DEI, economic, and firmwide topics. S/he will be able to independently prioritize the most important/high-value activities while ensuring that all stakeholders feel appropriately supported through effective management of their expectations. This means the candidate should be able to apply judgment with ease on which activities constitute high-value and act accordingly working directly with senior leaders or playing a key support role to deliver the work for leaders and programs.

The candidate should enjoy working on a mix of high-level programs; providing strategic and logistical management to conferences, roundtables, dinners, and other external speaking engagements. As part of this, they will have the ability to work in an agile way across multiple client groups and with external organizations and third party vendors. In addition, they will need to effectively leverage internal resources such as more junior staff and virtual team members.

Your key responsibilities

  • Spearheaded EY’s partnership strategy and overall day to day engagement with the Milken Institute and World Economic Forum. This includes the WEF Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland and the Milken Global Conference in Los Angeles, California.
  • Lead EY’s involvement with organizations year-round, elevating the firm’s profile across various platforms for senior leadership from diverse departments.
  • Manages the Global CEO’s external media memberships and ensures the benefits are leveraged and executed across the firm.
  • Stay on top of the ever changing conferences landscape and assess and develop new sponsorship opportunities for the Office of the Chairman.
  • Works closely with the Global PR and social media team to develop communication strategies and positioning plans in support of brand and business goals for the various events.
  • Position key global executives as experts on industry issues and hot topics with external platforms working closely with PR and social media colleagues for the pitches.
  • Negotiate sponsorship terms and benefits with external vendors and ensuring benefits are leveraged with internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee the contract management for sponsorships and memberships, including the Independence, legal and procurement reviews are in line with internal processes and guidelines, and gaining approvals as needed.
  • High level oversight of the Global Executive Positioning budget.
  • Ability to be a creative thinker and work to develop impactful proprietary events and ideas that are provocative, shape the dialogue and drive brand favourability. This includes working with third parties and external vendors on like minded topics.
  • Work across time zones and communicate regularly with the EY global BMC network, informing them of appropriate initiatives and briefing them where appropriate.
  • Develop a strong network with third party vendors, clients, and competitors to expand EY’s brand and leadership in the market and share best practices.

Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Prior executive positioning and event management experience working in-house or within an communications agency, with direct experience managing major sponsorships and programs.
  • Strong expertise in stakeholder management, and high aptitude for decisively identifying high-value activities while ensuring all stakeholders feel supported.
  • Excellent teaming and relationship building skills and experience in influencing and working within a complex, matrix organization.
  • Willingness and ability to work independently or collaboratively and to have a clear sense of escalation needs and sense of urgency on issues or projects.
  • Ability to travel and flexibility in your schedule to work extensive hours prior to major events.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Fantastic organizational, project management, and event logisitical skills. Must be extremely detailed oriented.
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity, as this role will involve daily interaction with people in countries around the globe.
  • A self-starter with a positive “can do” attitude and the drive to get the job done; the potential to develop within the organization.

What we offer

The compensation ranges below are provided in order to comply with United States pay transparency laws. Other geographies will follow their local salary guidelines, which may not be a direct conversion of published US salary range/s.

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $125,900 to $235,500. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $151,100 to $267,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
