Regional Operations Manager-Rapid Response

As a Regional Rapid Response Team Operations Manager, you will focus on IT Rapid Response Program Team development and delivery, provide leadership, and direction in establishing program roadmaps, staffing efficiencies, process improvements, and governance for DC Operations strategy that will support our current and future growth. In this role you will work collaboratively with all CO+I stakeholders to support Availability and Growth for the organization driving excellence in service through industry best practices.

As a CO+I Operations Manage for the Rapid Response Team, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft’s online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent AND 2+ years experience of mission-critical service management (e.g., providing IT services, manufacturing, warehouse, retail, military, or managing physical operations in an IT and/or critical environment infrastructure).

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience in data center-related functions for large enterprise organizations with experience in a production, mission-critical, 24×7 operations environment.
  • 2+ years’ experience in leading a technical team.
  • Experience with Project and Program management in large complex, cross-functional organizations.
  • Experience working with network technologies including Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol, LAN/WAN, Routing, and Switching.
  • Experience in structured process improvement and efficiency gains

Data Center Operations Management M4 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $99,000 – $195,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $129,500 – $216,000 per year.

Responsibilities:

  • Support a strategic vision and implementation plan for regional datacenter operations that will position the organization for future capacity and growth.
  • Lead a team of regionally distributed rapid response datacenter technicians responsible for assisting the Americas Region with IT Break/Fix operations including hardware onboarding, deployment, repair of failed components, hardware troubleshooting and support process and tooling improvements.
  • Collaborate with partners to resource plan for Break/Fix operations, program and project delivery, and ongoing operational support.
  • Collaborate with various Engineering, Operations, and Regional IT Program Managers during Break/Fix operations and project planning and execution.
  • Plan, forecast and manage program budget and make tradeoff decisions to adhere to sound fiscal practices.
  • Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities and communicate to stakeholders and other teams to drive resolution.
  • Create lessons learned documentation, best practices, and innovations on existing process/procedures and tools to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Establish data analytics to evaluate the process change efficiency and effectiveness.
