Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is looking to hire an experienced, innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed Sr. Innovation Engineer to lead the application of new automation technologies into our NA Delivery Station Network.
The successful candidate will be a member of the WW Amazon Logistics Innovation Engineering team and will be responsible to define, test, validate and implement various Robotics and Automation systems in the Delivery Stations network in NA.
This role requires experienced and entrepreneurial minded Engineers with combined robotics, engineering, planning and analytical skills. This individual will own robotics and automation implementation projects end-to-end and will partner with Process Engineering teams, Operations leaders, Facilities and Engineering teams to effectively operate advanced robotics technology across Amazon’s last mile network.
Key job responsibilities
– Key partner to work closely with Product teams and WW Engineering to drive customer (AMZL) requirements for implementing new automation tech in Delivery Stations network.
– Identify process paths to automate based on various factors; labor, cost, safety, performance, etc. working with Process Engineering and Operations partners
– Author business cases to introduce automation to the Delivery Stations network to improve performance
– Define pilot criteria and success metrics to validate proof of concept and performance targets set initially
– Collaboration with internal teams to provide technical documentation such as flow diagrams, equipment layouts, installation details, schedules and budgets for new automation systems to understand integration impacts on existing processes and building design
– Support lessons learnt program for new robotics and automation system to understand improvements needed for next generation design iterations
– Work with design and controls teams to detail out integration plans for MHE automation
– Partner with simulation team for validating new ideas and concepts to automate manual process paths
– Represent AMZL in cross functional teams to work on future technologies; robotics, automation, IoT to seamlessly integrate those into the Delivery Station eco-system
– Support development and implementation of Service and Maintenance concepts for AMZL Field teams
A day in the life
You will ideate and bring to life new technologies for AMZL. Your day could include: working with new vendors on developing concepts for AMZL with automation and robotics technology to being in the field and learning the challenges that associates face. You would write a business case and work with stakeholders to build a case for piloting new technology. You could dive deep into understanding how the tech influences AMZL processes and the associate’s lives. Eventually, you will iterate on your new ideas to decide for the business on GO/NO-GO for the new tech into AMZL. Bringing your entrepreneurial and innovative spirits will be a daily ordeal – it’s always Day 1.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 5+ years of directly managing and responsible for multiple large projects experience
– Experience and strong technical background in relevant fields of automated or non-automated material handling equipment
– Bachelors Degree in Engineering
– 5+ years Engineering Experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Master’s degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field
– Experience in Lean Management, Six Sigma and other operations engineer tools
– PMP Experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $95,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $177,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
