HR Operations – HR Administrator

Job Purpose

Provides general Human Resources and administrative support to the Human Resources staff. Will assist with administering policies, procedures, and programs relating to all aspects of human resource activity. Organizes, updates, and maintains personnel files; prepares and manages HR documents for onboarding and offboarding, and assists employees with general inquiries as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties that include but are not limited to, answering general inquiries for employees, managers, and/or vendors. Refers more complex questions to appropriate HR Generalists and Management.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the HR Management team and HR Generalists as needed
  • Process and record confidential records regarding employment history, compensation, benefits, performance evaluations, career development and promotional opportunities, disciplinary action, and other types of information.
  • Compile and update employee records (hard and soft copies) accordingly
  • Conduct the onboarding process that includes initial orientation to newly hired employees and verify documentation for authorization to work in the United States while working with the HR team regarding any possible discrepancies.
  • Assist with the offboarding process and paperwork to ensure it meets Federal, State, and/or local guidelines
  • Keeping abreast of HR guidelines, processes and procedures, and policies
  • Completing assignments in an accurate, thorough, and timely manner, meeting deadlines as required.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience as an HR Administrator, HR assistant or relevant human resources/administrative position
  • Experience handling confidential business matters and information with discretion
  • Ability to be approachable and appropriate when interacting with staff at all levels in a rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willing to work as part of a team or independently and have the drive to take on a variety of tasks and projects
  • Familiarity with HRIS/ATS software
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects at any given time
