Payment/Timekeeping Manager

The Payment/Timekeeping Manager will become a critical part of our team and be expected to handle all related tasks in a timely and efficient manner. This candidate’s day to day activities in uncovering and correcting errors to ensure accuracy of timesheet submissions are essential. The responsibilities will include:
• Monitoring Daily Employee Timesheets Submissions.
• Reviewing Reports Pertaining to Time & Leave Usage
• Assisting Employees with inquiries and timesheet adjustments as required;
• Compiling Bi-Weekly Roster Tracking Changes Impacting Upcoming Payroll Distribution Reports.
• Compilation of Managerial Lump Sum Payment Packages;
• Projecting Retroactive payments to staff as a result of title changes, salary adjustments or contractual general wage increases;
• Collaboration with various units within Human Capital & Recruitment;
• Assist with the batching and distribution of Payroll Checks; and
• Assist with Special Projects as needed.

Minimum Qual Requirements

Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State’s department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly detail oriented.
• Ability to work independently and within a group.
• Ability to manage and complete multiple projects within set deadlines.
• Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel and Access.
• Proficiency in basic arithmetic.
• Knowledge of City of New York Payroll, Timekeeping or Personnel procedures a plus.
• Knowledge of City of New York applications and data processing systems a plus.
• Prior experience in payroll, accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, payment services a plus.
