Summary:

Under general supervision, the Sensory Technician provides administrative support to the Sensory Operations team to include product procurement, inventory, sensory panel calendars and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Provides support to Sensory Assistants. Also responsible for the general upkeep of the sensory laboratory and inventory rooms.

What You Will Do:

  • Manages sensory panel calendars in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Preforms accurate data entry using Gallo systems such as Sample Library.
  • Handles general administrative tasks for the department to include building requests, Ariba invoicing, purchasing office and panel supplies, etc.
  • Trains, guides and supports the Sensory Assistant functions, as needed.
  • Accurately tracks and summarizes monthly panel activities against panel resource allocation.
  • Supports project managers and panel leaders to set up trainings and bench tastings.
  • Procures products from warehouse, online, or in-store for style attainment program, tastings, consumer studies and descriptive panel.
  • Maintain, track, update and audit product inventory with accuracy.
  • Supports consumer test logistics to include preparing products and test supplies and ensures accurate and timely delivery of goods to test locations.
  • Prepares and ships products/supplies to internal and external locations.
  • Writes standard operating procedures (SOPs), as assigned.

What You Will Need:

  • Associate’s degree; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 2 years of administrative support experience in a production, operations or laboratory environment reflecting increasing levels of responsibilities.
  • Skilled in the use of MS Excel and MS Word at a intermediate level.
  • Required to be at least 21 years of age.
  • Required to have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record. Required to obtain a California driver’s license within 30 days of hire
  • Required to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, viticulture, nutrition, psychology, business administration, applied mathematics, chemistry, mechanical engineering or biology plus 1 year of administrative support experience in a production, operations, or laboratory environment; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 4 years of administrative support experience in a production, operations, or laboratory environment.

Compensation:

  • Hiring Hourly Range Posted: $23.60 – $31.83 / hour
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
