We are looking for a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to help secure our cloud infrastructure and promote security-first principles for our data intensive applications in support of underwriting and life insurance use cases. THE ROLE:
- Automate deployment of security controls using Terraform, GitHub Actions and Ansible
- Conduct risk-based assessment of cloud infrastructure and workloads
- Scan our web applications while providing developers with security-best practices
- Monitor changes in the threat landscape and evaluate their impact on our operations
- Manage Ubuntu virtual machine endpoint security using Ansible and system tools
- Manage collection, analysis and alerting of audit logs, including system and application logs using Datadog and Azure Log Analytics
- Be involved in reading and writing technical documentation
- Perform mock drills for disaster preparation, encompassing backup strategy, redundancy & replication
- Lead some incident responses to limit damages, identify extent of compromise and identify root cause
- Review application and infrastructure changes to ensure they meet security requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 years of technical experience in computer security
- Master’s degree in cybersecurity or a similar specialty / bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field and an advanced security certification
- Solid programming or scripting experience to support complex automated deployments
- Expertise with database security, including PII detection, column classification, encryption, cataloging sensitive data and access management
- Expert knowledge of the Linux operating system and advanced Linux security
- Working knowledge of networking and its relevance in the cloud environment
- Familiarity with security best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, operations & support
- Ability to work in a cloud-native development environment using cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes and how best to secure a containerized environment
- Ability to clearly communicate in a non-technical manner with other members of the team
- Guide & mentor junior engineers on skill development
- Desire to learn new technologies and passion about launching new features and products

The base salary range anticipated for this position is $112,842 – $142,537, plus an opportunity for an annual company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay.
