Job Description

The Talent Recruitment Team at KIPP Texas attracts, selects, and hires top, diverse talent committed to educational equity and passionate about creating joyful, academically excellent schools to meet the organization’s current and future staffing needs. As a Talent Recruitment Leadership Team member, you will collaborate with other leadership team members to align on the vision of excellence for talent acquisition at KIPP Texas. You will oversee the Campus Operations hiring portfolio (~200 positions), setting strategy for equity-based campus operations recruitment, managing a team of 2 recruiters, and working with stakeholders across the organization to design and implement hiring processes that attract and select candidates who reflect the diversity of our students and embody the values of KIPP Texas Public School. As a sub team leader you will model and foster a culture that drives excellence, joy, inclusion and belonging.

Major Responsibilities Duties

Serve as a member of the Talent Recruitment Leadership Team and Family

  • Partner with the Talent Recruitment Leadership Team to define and operationalize KIPP Texas’ vision of excellence for talent acquisition, rooted in our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Champion KIPP Texas’ mission to ensure choice-filled lives for Little KIPPsters, by championing equity in recruitment content and team management.
  • Collaborate with the other Directors of Talent Recruitment to progress monitor annual goals and team execution. Identify inequities in systems, analyze them with empathy and take actions to drive positive change in our talent recruitment approach, implementation, and infrastructure.
  • Assist the Managing Director of Talent Recruitment with annual resource planning.
  • Model the Talent Recruitment Team’s culture to foster high-performance, inclusion, and belonging. Lead key team culture initiatives.
  • Build a network of engaged stakeholders across the organization. Leverage a diverse set of perspectives to implement and strengthen our recruitment practices.
  • Serve as an expert in equity-based recruitment and hiring practices and the workforce market.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration through active participation in manager, team, department, and organizational meetings.
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset through co-creating a personalized learning plan and participating in development experiences to improve your practice in equity-based recruitment and leadership.

Lead the campus operations portfolio management

  • Develop and implement the sourcing and recruitment strategy for the campus operations portfolio aligned to the talent recruitment team’s direction and KIPP Texas’ 2025 plan.
  • Drive results across the campus operations portfolio, efficiently and effectively implementing equity-based hiring processes to close open positions.
  • Progress monitor performance, including data tracking and reporting, towards short and long term portfolio goals.
  • Leverage data to develop and deliver solutions to ensure campus operations have diverse, top talent to meet current and future staffing needs.
  • Design equity-based hiring processes and practices across the campus operations portfolio.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Development Team to design and implement an annual talent planning process to project annual hiring needs across the campus operations portfolio.
  • Builds pools of active and passive candidates for future, current, and hard-to-staff positions.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion and empathy, delivering the talent recruitment team’s A+ service delivery model to clients across the campus operations portfolio.

Manage a team of recruiters

  • Lead a high performing team of 2 recruiters focused on delivering excellent customer service, timely hiring, and quality candidates.
  • Develop a team culture of high-performance, inclusion, and belonging dedicated to embodying KIPP Texas’ value proposition.
  • Coach and train recruiters to develop best-in-class, equity-based recruitment and hiring practices.
  • Implement data analysis cycles and hold recruiters accountable for meeting targets and adjusting course as necessary in pursuit of goals.

Lead key campus operations searches

  • Partner with hiring managers through delivery of the talent recruitment team’s A+ service delivery model, including, but not limited to, projecting hiring needs, understanding job requirements, creating timelines, assessing candidates’ qualifications, etc.
  • Conduct end-to-end searches for key campus operations positions. Post job descriptions, review applications, conduct initial screenings, coordinate interview logistics, and conduct reference checks.
  • Steward candidates through the hiring process and embody KIPP Texas’ core values in all interactions and communications with candidates.
  • Communicate KIPP Texas’ value proposition clearly and succinctly, tailoring messages to candidates’ motivations and concerns.
  • Provide candidates with transparent and timely communications using the Talent Recruitment Team’s A+ service delivery model.
  • Anticipate, engage, and respond to candidates’ questions and concerns.
  • Prepare candidates for each stage of the hiring process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years of equivalent work experience
  • 5 years working in education, recruitment, sales, or a related industry
  • 3 years management experience
  • Experience in high-volume recruitment preferred

  • The salary range for this position is $75,000-$95,000 and is commensurate upon experience and internal-equity.

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel to various locations for career fairs, in person meetings, or conferences, travel time approximately 20%.
