The Division of Investigative and Forensic Services encompasses all law enforcement and forensic components residing within the Department of Financial Services. With this broad responsibility, the division investigates a wide range of fraudulent and criminal acts including:

High School degree or its’ equivalent is required.
Preference shall be given to applicants with a bachelor’s degree or higher.
Additional requirements:
- Knowledge of computers and software

Preference shall be given to applicants with:
- At least two (2) years of experience working in an IT environment in either a field-based support capacity or a call center capacity (College or trade school education in Information Technology field of study can substitute on a year for year basis).
- Experience in customer call documentation and tracking system/ticketing system.
- Experience in support of MS Office 365 applications.
- Experience working within a law enforcement agency, governmental investigative or criminal justice field.
- Documented knowledge of the Florida Department Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles Database known as Driver and Vehicle Information Database (D.A.V.I.D.)
This position requires occasional travel.
This position requires a security background check which includes a financial credit report, and fingerprinting.
Special consideration may be given to eligible candidates who have bilingual verbal & written skills that meet a critical need of the agency’s mission.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

The minimum salary for this position is $40,350.96 annually.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Experience supporting mobile devices (i.e., cellular telephones, MiFi cellular devices).
- Experience using remote control applications.
- Knowledge of distributed processing operations, procedures, and equipment.
- Knowledge of problem-solving techniques.
- Knowledge of computers and software.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
If applicable, (Incumbent of position is a member of DFS’ Disaster Response Team and, in that capacity, may be required on short notice to perform duties and necessary attendant travel in support of disaster relief efforts.)
Provides first-level on-site and telephone desktop support and technical assistance as required to resolve hardware and/or software problems in new and existing computer systems.
Responds to requests from the Division for the install of software, hardware, and coordinates with the helpdesk concerning employee networking. Monitors the use of software and hardware throughout the network and provides for on-going identification and resolution of user needs.
Maintains inventory of all hardware and software resources within the Division including serial numbers, level of software, type of training and to whom provided.
Serves as State and DIFS Emergency Operations Center (EOC) technical liaison and performs all related technical duties and required diagnostic procedures to allow participation by the Division.
Serves as backup point of contact for Driver and Vehicle Information Database (D.A.V.I.D.) assisting Division employees to effectively use the DAVID system, conduct quarterly audits, maintain users accounts, receives, track and respond to public records requests.
Perform other related duties and activities as required in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
