Summary of Job
The skate shop employees shall be responsible for the daily operation of the Skate Shop.

Position is 10 – 15 hours per week; evenings and weekends
4 positions open

Tasks Routinely Performed

1. Responsible for meeting and serving patrons in a cheerful and professional manner.
2. Sell skate rentals for public skating, learn to skate sessions and all group rentals. After rental usage, dry blade with towel and wrap laces around skate before putting skate on rack.
3. Clean the Skate Shop at the end of your shift. (At the end of the day; clean display glass, vacuum carpet, clean cash register, vacuum skate sharpener room, and wipe down everything. When time presents itself, check rental skates for blade quality and check/replace all skate laces and skate insoles as needed.
4. Inventory First Aid Cabinet daily to make sure it is fully stocked/supplied.
5. Keep all merchandise stocked and report any low count to your immediate Supervisor.
6. Answer the Skate Shop telephone.
7. Follow accident procedures as stated in the K.B. Willett employee manual.
8. Responsible for opening and closing out of the Skate Shop cash register.
9. Responsible to conduct work in a safe manner and adhere to all safety policies.
10. Responsible for help with the clean up of the facility after all learn to skate, public skating sessions and group rentals.
11. Responsible to stay in the Skate Shop area when the Skate Shop is open.

Qualifications

1. Must have and be able to demonstrate good public relation skills.
2. Must be able to get along and work with fellow employees.
3. Must have the ability to communicate effectively.
4. Must be able to work in cold, damp, hot, or loud conditions.
5. Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required.
6. Must be able to bend, twist, and squat occasionally for 6-8 hours per day and be able to lift 50-100 pounds.
7. Ability to read/write and follow verbal and written directions.
8. Must be able to continuously walk or stand for 4-8 hours.
9. Must have proficient knowledge of sharpening of both Hockey and Figure Skates, or be willing to learn
10. Must be able to operate the point of sale software and cash drawer
11. Must be proficient in mathematics.
12. Must have the ability to work unsupervised.
